We are developing a system for precision analysis of backscatter in fiber. We need an engineer capable of converting phase shifts in a high-frequency optical signal into structured data.
Sprint project: 8 weeks.
Stack and tasks:
Hardware: Construction of an interferometric circuit based on Narrow Linewidth Laser (1550 nm) and AOM. Optimization of "radiation - detection".
Data Acquisition: Work with 100+ MS/s data streams (FPGA/DAQ). Synchronization of the pulse modulator with the data collection path.
DSP: Phase extraction, noise removal and digital demodulation.
Analytics: Development of event classification logic based on frequency signatures (spectral analysis, threshold logic).
Requirements for expertise:
Optics: Deep understanding of coherence, Rayleigh scattering and phase modulation methods. Experience with SMF-28 (FC/APC) and optical circulators.
Signal Processing: Professional Python (NumPy, SciPy). Confident work with FFT, digital filtering and non-stationary signals.
Tools: Experience with high-end measuring equipment (fast oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
