Motion Graphics Designer in Proof News

Proof is seeking to collaborate with a MOTION GRAPHICS DESIGNER to support the development of a visual style for our video content, including for YouTube and TikTok videos. The ideal candidate will have experience working in journalism and a deep understanding of the visual language of social media platforms. Our reporting is data-driven, and we are interested in developing creative new ways to bring that data to life.Key ResponsibilitiesWork with our producers and editors to conceive of a unique and compelling visual style for our videos Create a graphics toolkit for our videos including the following elements, all with versions for both TikTok (vertical) and YouTube (horizontal), and for both dark and light backgrounds:Layout templates including positioning of title, logo, captions, etcCaptioning styleTitle cardAnimated logo and bugLower 3rds (versions for just name and title or name, org and title)DateSourceHighlighting style for words in a news article or documentPull quotesBar chartPie chartTransitionsIngredients listCreditsEnd card (url, logo)Other creative elements you would like to addWork with digital strategist to ensure that our visual style fits with the social media platforms for which they are designedWork with editors and video producer to create our first two videos, each about 5-7 minutes longRequirementsIdeal candidates will have a minimum of three to five years experience in developing compelling visual styles and a proven track record of developing successful, creative new approaches to video storytelling for mission driven organizations. Candidates do not need to have a background directly in journalism or news, but should be able to demonstrate an understanding and familiarity with the news landscape.
