The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading international humanitarian organization whose main goal is to protect, support and promote long-term solutions for displaced populations.

The DRC has been in Ukraine since 2014. At the moment, more than 800 employees work in the DRB in total on the territory of Ukraine. In 2024, the DRB will continue to significantly expand to implement emergency response in the sectors of social and legal protection, economic development, housing reconstruction and resettlement, and humanitarian disarmament and peacebuilding (humanitarian demining), providing direct support to responsible individuals and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and as well as their partners. DRB will continue to develop long-term solutions, adapting them to the changing situation.

DRB is currently looking for a Data Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for its Mykolaiv operations.

This position will report to the Data Monitoring and Evaluation Team Leader.

General Purpose of the Role: 

Supervise of the Monitoring and Evaluation Team Leader, the Data Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will conduct monitoring activities in the region, effectively communicate information to program teams, collect data from locations and monitor activities to obtain feedback on the quality and relevance of assistance, analyze data and participate in reporting for support programs, study and development of donor programs. This position is based in Mykolaiv with frequent trips to Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.

  • Support in conducting joint monitoring with the beneficiaries of DRB using the developed programs;
  • Support in the development of methodology and tools for data collection;
  • Ensuring high data quality through accurate collection, input and upload of data, as well as basic analysis of information;
  • Ensuring timely reporting of monitoring activities in accordance with project work plans and schedules;
  • Providing regular oral and written feedback on field observations and monitoring results to the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager and relevant program staff;
  • Working closely with program teams, conducting any monitoring activities for projects in region.
  • About you:

    To be successful as a Data Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist we expect that you will have at least 2 years of professional experience preferably in the field of social work, community development, non-governmental organizations or civil society. We also expect the following:

    • Higher education in a relevant field (development or social research, preferably with a focus on monitoring and evaluation and compliance) or an equivalent professional qualification;
    • Experience of working in humanitarian organizations and/or with the humanitarian sector and using data collection tools;
    • Knowledge/experience in the field of monitorsng and assessment, particularly information management or accountability;
    • Excellent command of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
    • Basic knowledge of data analysis practices and tools;
    • Advanced level of English language proficiency;
    • Fluent command of the Ukrainian language.

    Contract: permanent contract after successful completion of a 3-month trial period term;

    Level: H — non-managerial

    Place of duties: Mykolaiv
