Middle/Senior Magento 2 Backend Developer (remote) in Preis HR agency

For our client, a Magento agency working with international eCommerce projects (EU/US) for more than 10 years, we are looking for a Middle/Senior Magento 2 Backend Developer (remote) to join the outsourcing team.

The role has a clear backend focus: developing custom Magento 2 modules, integrations, REST/GraphQL APIs, payment solutions, performance and security.

Experience with third-party services (payments, delivery, taxes) and comfort in a distributed team with communication with customers is important.

Necessary skills:

• Sure knowledge of PHP 8 and OOP.
• Strong understanding of Magento 2 backend architecture.
• Experience in developing custom Magento 2 modules.
• Good knowledge of MySQL (indexing, query optimization, performance).
• Experience with Magento REST and GraphQL API.
• Experience in integration of payment systems (Stripe will be a significant plus).
• Understanding performance & caching (Redis, Varnish, Elasticsearch).
• Understanding Magento security and data protection principles.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code.
• English language: oral and written communication.

Responsibilities:

• Development and support of Magento 2 custom backend modules.
• Extension of Magento core according to best practices (plugins, observers, DI, service contracts).
• Development and support of integrations via REST and GraphQL API.
• Working with payment systems (subscriptions, refunds, PCI-compliant processes).
• Optimization of MySQL (queries, indexing, performance).
• Ensuring productivity, scalability and stability of Magento platforms.
• Interaction with Frontend, DevOps, QA, PM.
• Participation in task assessment, technical planning and code review.
• Communication with clients within the project (expected).
