Middle Data Engineer in Uvik Software

We are looking for a Middle Data Engineer with excellent communication skills in English.

Responsibilities:

- Design and create an efficient system for collecting, processing, analyzing, and visualizing large amounts of data from various sources

-Develop and maintain data pipelines that collect data from different sources using modern data stack technologies

- Create and manage Data Warehouse and Data Marts

- Analyze, organize, and interpret raw data using SQL queries and data manipulation techniques

- Collaborate with the Business Analytics team to create domain descriptions and design permission models with flexible control over vertical and horizontal access to data

- Contribute to and spearhead Data Engineering excellence by researching technology trends and conducting best practices analysis to ensure solutions remain state-of-the-art

- Create ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration configurations, CI/CD automation, and scripts

Required skills:

- BS in Computer Science or a related field

- Proficiency in building, maintaining, testing, and delivering large-scale - data pipelines

- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with RDBMS, confident knowledge of database fundamentals

- At least 3 years of experience in Python/Scala for data processing and transformations

- Experience with Spark, particularly PySpark, with a focus on debugging and optimizing Spark jobs

- Hands-on experience with main frameworks and libraries in Data Engineering domains, such as Spark, Kafka, and Airflow

- Experience with cloud-based data processing solutions on AWS/Azure

- Conceptual knowledge of data analytics fundamentals, e.g., dimensional modelling, ETL/ELT, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data

- Experience in database development and data modelling, ideally with Databricks/Spark

- Working knowledge of serialization formats and their trade-offs (columnar vs. row-based)

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- At least an Upper-Intermediate level of English

Nice to have:

+Experience with a Business Intelligence tool (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, Grafana)

+Databricks experience/certification

+Experience with CI/CD in data engineering
