“Byne” is a British-Ukrainian startup helping companies build and deploy applications based on LLMs (and other Transformer models) on private infrastructure.
We are a VC-backed startup featured in AIN, SPEKA, and other industry media. Most of our founders have prior startup experience (monobank, Twitch, itemis, Watched), so you can expect a real startup journey experience and culture when joining the team.
We are looking for a Middle Backend Engineer who will be reporting to the CTO and work on the following projects:
- Migrating from AWS stack (Lambda, DynamoDB, etc.) to open-source alternatives.
- Building API wrappers for model containers.
- Working on multiple projects for the main API, including multitenancy and data ingestion for model fine-tuning. 
Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years of full-time experience as a Backend Engineer, ideally working with ML Engineers.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and AWS in production environments.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Keen interest in LLMs and other languages understanding AI.
- Experience with NoSQL databases and vector storages.
- Experience in documenting the code and new features (in English).
Nice-to-haves:
- Good English, both spoken and written.
- Active open-source contributor. 
- Having done pet projects or having work experience with LLMs or other Transformers models.

- We have little oversight over people, and you will be entrusted with a great deal of autonomy.
- We are remote-first, but sometimes we do team on-sites.
- All early joiners are co-founders, so at least 20% of the compensation package is provided in stock options registered under British law. This is a big part of the involvement culture, and we maintain this policy for everyone on the team.
