GENERAL INFORMATION

BF "Right to Defense" (hereinafter - the Fund) is a sector leader in the protection of people who have suffered from war, veterans, refugees and stateless persons. We seek recovery and integration for those we help. Our team protects people's rights and influences laws and decisions in Ukraine and the world to become fairer. We are actively developing a network of partners for localized support of those who need it. The fund is 13 years old. Today, the team of BF "Right to Defense" has about 1,200 specialists. Geography: 22 regions of Ukraine, as well as a representative office in Poland. More than 3,300,000 people have received aid since the start of the full-scale invasion. Our work was recognized at the national level: in 2024, the Foundation won first place in the "Charity Ukraine" competition in the "All-Ukrainian Charity" category, entered the top 10 of the Forbes Ukraine "50 Best Charitable Organizations" rating, and took 9th place in the integrity rating of Ukrainian charitable foundations.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project "Complex services for the protection of the civilian population affected by hostilities and improving the resilience skills of workers who come to help first" is aimed at protecting and supporting the rights of internally displaced persons, the population affected by hostilities, stateless persons, as well as veterans and their families at the national, local and individual levels. In 2026, the Fund, as part of the project, will monitor the protection of the rights of IDPs and provide free legal assistance to internally displaced persons, stateless persons, veterans and their families in the regions of Ukraine.

The geography of activity includes the Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Odesa, Poltava and Kirovohrad regions. The territory of implementation may change depending on the security situation and project needs.

General job description

Methodologist on providing services to veterans and their family members is responsible for development, implementation and control of compliance with service delivery standards. The main goal of the position is to provide professional support to specialists of the IDP protection program and the affected population to guarantee the safety, ethics and high quality of assistance to beneficiaries in accordance with international and national protection standards. 400; text-decoration: none">Development of standard operating procedures for veterans and their families.

  • Training of protection program specialists in methods and forms of work with veterans and members of their families.

  • Ensuring methodological support for the provision of services to veterans and their family members.

  • Coordination and participation in the development of innovative approaches to the provision of services by the IDP and affected population protection program.

  • Organization and holding of trainings, seminars and other educational events for improving the qualifications of specialists.

  • Readiness for frequent business trips to monitor and support the implementation of services in the regions.

  • Interaction with state and non-state institutions, partners to ensure effective implementation of project and program goals.

  • Development of methodological materials, recommendations and other program documents.

  • Supervisory support of specialists of the program for the protection of IDPs and the affected population, who provide services to veterans and members of their families.

  • Understanding and following the Code of Conduct and other policies of the Foundation.

  • PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Higher education in social sciences, humanities or psychology will be an advantage.

    • Must have experience in the field of providing social services to veterans. 

    • Knowledge of the current legislation of Ukraine in the social sphere, veteran policy, etc.

    • Skills in developing and implementing work methods and standards.

    • Excellent communication skills, ability to cooperate and interact in a team.

    • Experience in organizing educational events and staff training.

    • Willingness to work on business trips and remotely.

    • Understanding humanitarian principles and basics of working with veterans.

    • Skills of supervisory support of social work specialists.
