We work in the areas of education, child protection, overcoming child poverty, health care, and also conduct advocacy activities related to the protection of children's rights .Purpose of the Position: The MEALManager plays a critical role in providing strategic oversight and operational leadership of the MEAL program within the regional office. His responsibilities include the ongoing recruitment and development of the MEAL team in the relevant region, as well as the supervision and capacity building of team members, including the coordinator, consultants and assistants. In this role, he/she will offer strategic ideas, advice and support for the entire portfolio of projects in region, providing a high-quality data management process that adapts to new technologies. In addition, he/she will focus on facilitating learning and collecting data to improve program effectiveness. He/she receives technical support from MEAL and works closely with MEAL Advisors and other officials in MEAL's national structure on project technical support. Reports directly to the Head of Programs (HoP). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Be responsible for the deployment and implementation of the MEAL system for projects implemented outside SAO. Ensure the use of MEALSOPs. the various steps and tools of the MEAL system. Support the MEAL team in SAO, when conducting quality monitoring, in accordance with SCI standards using participatory methodologies (including child-friendly methodologies). Provide technical support and participate as necessary , in all other aspects of MEAL-related activities at the local level, such as surveys, analyses, baselines, evaluations, joint project reviews/workshops/learning events. Direct the actions of the MEAL team, in accordance with the SOPs for MEAL ( monitoring, evaluation, training and accountability) and develop adaptations of these procedures according to the context of their area. Be responsible for budgetary planning and costs related to MEAL activities. Ensure that project staff responsible for implementation are fully involved and understand MEAL requirements .Ensure effective allocation of resources and adherence to budget constraints.To be successful, you must have:Bachelor's/Master's degree in economics, sociology, management, social development or a related field.Fluency in Ukrainian and English, both spoken and written. Experience with monitoring, evaluation, training and accountability in international organizations or NGOs. Strong leadership and team management skills. Knowledge of standard industry tools and data management technologies. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skillsability and prudence in handling confidential information. Experience with MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook. Ability to work independently and proactively. Proven ability to cope with a complex workload. Main responsibilities: The MEAL Manager plays a crucial role in providing strategic oversight and operational leadership for MEAL within the Area office. Responsibilities include ongoing recruitment and development of the broader MEAL team in the respective area, as well as overseeing and building the capacity of team members, including coordinators, officers, and assistants. This encompasses roles such as the accountability officer and database officer. The incumbent will offer strategic insights, advice, and support for the entire project portfolio within the area, ensuring a high-quality data management process that adapts to new technologies. Additionally, they will focus on promoting learning and evidence to enhance program effectiveness. The role receives technical support from the Head of MEAL (HoM) and collaborates closely with MEAL Advisors and other positions within the national MEAL structure for project technical support. Direct reporting is to the Head of Programs (HoP).
