SCI has been working in Ukraine since 2014. She started her work in the territory of Donetsk region. Currently, SCI is expanding its activities to eight cities of Ukraine.

We work in the areas of education, child protection, overcoming child poverty, health care I, and we also conduct advocacy activities related to the protection of children's rights.

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION: 

The Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist will provide administrative and technical support for training and development activities.

The training and development specialist manages the preparation of the training and development calendar, its timely updates and monthly training and development reports. He/she will ensure the dissemination of useful links and tools to staff and facilitate access to the Learning Management System (LMS). The Learning and Development Officer supports line managers in performance and development reviews and supports the management performance review tracker.

The Learning and Development Officer will conduct functional training for Learning and Development Coordinators in offices and will ensure that training and development activities in all offices meet the standards of the Mutual Aid Initiative.

SCI is a "dual mandate" organization and therefore will give equal priority to both humanitarian and development work.  SCI strives to ensure that children's basic rights are respected, such as survival, safety, continued access to protection and education. As part of its commitment to work with children through humanitarian interventions, SCI supports programs in both acute and chronic emergencies.

At times, given the context of Ukraine, the Learning and Development Officer is expected to: he will work outside of the normal role profile to reflect the increased contribution required to respond to an emergency situation and will be able to vary working hours accordingly.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Provides administrative and technical support to the team from induction events to continuous learning initiatives
  • Maintains performance management tracker and ensures timely feedback from line managers
  • Collects feedback on the development plan using the performance appraisal tool and incorporates it into the training and development plan
  • Works closely with Head Office, HR network group and various cluster groups on training opportunities for the teams
  • Ensures timely updating and completion of the following reports - Monthly Learning & Development Reports, L&D Snapshot, L&D Tracker and L&D Calendar
  • Verifies the entry of Learning & Development data into the HR Oracle system and ensures timely entering/updating and entering accurate information into the system for mandatory trainings
  • Conducts functional training for learning and development coordinators in offices and ensures compliance of learning and development activities in all offices with SCI standards, conducts facilitation sessions
  • Works closely with teams to identify consultants to conduct training events and building a pool of in-country trainers
  • Contributes to organizational learning and capacity building in planned training events by providing feedback to the team on things and areas that need improvement
  • Using all available policies, practices, checklists and guidelines (minimum HR standards, emergency HR toolkits) and ensuring good Save the Children work practices.

    CHILD PROTECTION 

    • Ensure that program staff provide all beneficiaries with ongoing and age-appropriate verbal or written information in appropriate languages ​​about the Child Rescue Policy and Code of Conduct.
    • Make sure that children's activities are safe for children and that they are usedI will take all measures to ensure their meaningful and safe participation.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience work

    EXPERIENCE(MANDATORY)

    • 2 years or more of work experience in the field training and development
    • Prior experience working in an NGO at the management level within a comprehensive program in the field of emergency response/humanitarian assistance
    • Proven experience in working with personnel - experience in providing various support services training for managers and staff
    • Experience in providing administrative and technical support to training events in various forms
    • Excellent solving and consulting skills on complex personnel management issues
    • Good attention to details
    • Understanding humanitarian care approaches, including approaches to welfare, stress management, rest and debriefing
    • Good facilitation skills and ability to conduct induction briefings/training
    • Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills in English, experience in managing multinational teams

    Preferred to have

    • Certificate of business trainer (School of trainers, courses of business trainers)
