DRC operates in Ukraine since 2014, DRB currently has over 800 staff in Ukraine and will continue to expand significantly in 2022 to implement emergency response in the social and legal protection, livelihoods, housing/non-food kits and humanitarian demining and development sectors of peace (humanitarian mine safety activities), using direct intervention, involvement of civil society organizations (CSOs), as well as partnerships with CSOs. DRB will continue to develop long-term solutions, adapting them to the changing situation.
DRB is currently looking for a junior specialist in the project to counter gender-based violence for its activities in Chernihiv region.
< p>This position will report to the Gender Based Violence Project Team Leader.
General Purpose of the Role:
Under the supervision of the Advocacy Team Leader, junior specialist of the project to combat gender-based violence will support measures to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls in the Chernihiv region. The junior specialistwill be responsible for providing services within the case management of women and girls who have suffered from violence. Case management is a structured method of providing emotional support and supporting people's access to services. You will also work closely with communities, health services, women's networks, government services and other organizations to share information about available services and ways to prevent violence against women and girls.

Main responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the team leader, the junior specialist of the project against gender-based violence will:
- Provide women and girls who have suffered from violence with services within the framework of the management of the case of human rights abuses, including the assessment of their needs; basic counseling; support in the development and implementation of a care plan; support for the development and implementation of the security plan; and supporting access to additional services in accordance with the wishes of customers.
- Complete and ensure secure storage of case management documentation, including completion of intake forms, referral forms and case management.
- Provide secure referrals to medical, legal, psychological and other services as appropriate necessary, and provide escort services when needed.
- Facilitate and support psychosocial support activities for women and girls.
- Conduct informational and educational activities (including awareness-raising and capacity building activities) with communities.
- Supportcarry out evaluation work to understand the needs of women and girls, if necessary, including conducting monitoring activities.
- Prepare activity reports and ensure timely submission to team leader for review and internal sharing.
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the team leader and/or manager, related to the achievement of the goals of the social and legal protection project.
< strong>Experience and competencies required:
- Commitment to gender equality and interest in working to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls.
- Awareness of women's advocacy or women's rights issues such as empowerment programs, reproductive health, counseling, etc. is preferred but not required.
- Comfort in communicating on sensitive topics and working with people who are in trouble.
- Developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with Microsoft packages including Powerpoint and Teams preferred.
- Knowledge of the English language is desirable, but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of the Ukrainian language.
