DRB is currently looking for Junior specialist in financial activities in the city of Chernihiv. This position will report to the Head of the Financial Operations Group
General purpose of the role:
Under the direction of the Head of the Financial Operations Group, a junior specialist in of financial work is responsible for ensuring the general daily financial functioning of the office and supporting the implementation of the DRB program activities.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare payments made in cash , by check or bank transfer in the form of DRB - Request for Payment
- Service cash operations, currency exchange, cash counting, working with cash in a safe and confidential mode
- Prepare requests for money transfers to bank account
- Ensure daily update of Expense Logs in Dynamics and Cash Books in Excel to reflect the actual cash on hand and bank balance in all currencies;
- Submit bank statements and signed cash receipts and cash books to the Finance Manager by the 5th of each calendar month;
- Ensure that advances and deposits are issued based on the approval of the Program and Administration Manager and are paid within 4 weeks of incurring expenses;
- Assist with audits in each project at the request of the financial manager;
- Ensure the use of the appropriate budget article and project during the reservation of costs;
- Check and sign purchase orders and requests for payments from the financial side;

- Ensure the description of expenses in the journals and the cash book, as well as that the quality of the journals and the cash book as a whole corresponds to the internal instructions of the DRB;
- Ensure the proper storage system of financial documents;
- Provide scanned vouchers to Finance Manager monthly;
- Plan and adhere to consolidated budget table (FILE) for activities (projects/BL);
- Check logbooks and fuel calculation forms provided by supply department , provide fuel advances and fuel reimbursements;
- Ensure full oversight of contracts: verification of agreements, confirmation of reports, support of Program staff during visits;
- Actively participate in harmonization of operational work: exchange ideas, create tools, update them, etc.;
- Provide other support to the head of the financial work group as part of financial matters.
Requiredexperience and competences:
- Experience in the financial field for at least 1-2 years
- Experience in the Ministry of Education and Culture is desirable
- Excellent skills in working with Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in English is desirable
- Fluency in Ukrainian
- Speech and communication skills
- Developed organizational skills

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Conditions of Employment of National Staff of the Danish Refugee Council.
