The Danish Refugee Council is currently looking for a Junior Mine and Explosive Residue Risk Awareness Specialist of war.
About the work
The main purpose of the work is to inform the population about the risks associated with mines and explosive remnants of war through educational activities among the population, namely organizing meetings and events.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Conducting mine risk awareness sessions for adults, teenagers and children, according to internal requirements To the humanitarian disarmament and peacebuilding sector of the DRB, using standard and approved methods
- Quickly respond to changes in the current situation in order to ensure the spread of awareness of the risk of mines and explosive objects among the affected population
- Understand and ensure compliance of mine risk awareness activities with the internal requirements of the DRB
- Participate in the planning of activities related to awareness about mine danger
- Plan and hold meetings with representatives of local communities to facilitate the organization of mine danger awareness sessions
- Provide reports on the work carried out in accordance with the requirements of the DRB
< li>Follow the provided work plans and methodical recommendations;- Improve knowledge about common types of mines and other explosive objects
- During the measures to inform about mine danger, collect information from the public about detected explosive objects and pass it on to the Head(s) of the group
- Perform administrative tasks (participate in the preparation of purchase applications, order requests, etc.) and/or other tasks at the request of the Group Leader(s)
About you
To successfully work in this position, you must have public communication skills performances and conducting trainings, as well as experience working with different age groups in an educational or humanitarian environment. In addition, we expect the following:
Required:
- Higher education.
- Experience in public speaking, training or organizing presentations in offline and online formats.
- Experience working with children, teenagers and adults.
- Negotiation skills and relevant experience.
- Fluent command of Ukrainian language.
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of the Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred:
- Proficiency in English (at least basic level).
- Resistance to stress.
- Experience of working in international humanitarian organizations.
