The Danish Refugee Council (DRC)is a leading international humanitarian organization whose main objective is which is to protect, support and promote long-term solutions for displaced populations. DRB has existed in Ukraine since 2014. At the moment, more than 700 employees work in DRB in total on the territory of Ukraine. In 2024, the DRB will continue to significantly expand to implement emergency response in the social and legal protection, livelihoods, housing reconstruction and humanitarian disarmament and peacebuilding (humanitarian demining) sectors, providing direct support to responsible individuals and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and as well as their partners. DRB will continue to develop long-term solutions, adapting them to the changing situation.
DRB is currently looking for a highly qualified Junior Housing Rehabilitation Project Specialist< /strong>,who will join our team in Zaporizhia.
Total positions:
Your responsibilities will include project implementation, reporting and evaluation, including: correct completion and submission of acts of completed works, maintaining a register of beneficiaries, which received assistance, with a breakdown by gender, degrees of vulnerability and their number per household. Also, you will monitor the correctness and timeliness of submitted internal reports, proper storage of records and project tools (electronic and hard copies).
Your main responsibilities will be:
Infrastructure and maintenance objects
- Supervise and regularly evaluate the infrastructure of construction and repair objects.
- Identify infrastructure needs with an emphasis on improving access for vulnerable populations.
- Focus on accessibility and the special needs of vulnerable groups, including people with reduced mobility.
- Perform processes of proper inspection of housing, land and property before carrying out construction or repair work.
- Notify the manager in a timely manner of any gaps and duplication in service delivery, as well as any necessary facility upgrades/maintenance.
Community engagement and accountability
- In collaboration with other team members, consult with residents and local authorities, than to carry out work on the improvement of buildings and structures.
- Interact with other team members regarding complaints and feedback related to the protection, maintenance of buildings and structures.
Main areas of protection
- Consider gender and protection issues in all aspects of activity.
- Support and adhere to sexual exploitation and abuse prevention policies(for residents of the facility, staff of DRB, partner agencies, temporary workers).
- Consult with the local authorities before carrying out any work on the maintenance of the object and infrastructure, with the aim of implementing measures with their participation, as well as with the active participation of community members, with mandatory consideration of the interests of vulnerable groups and people with special needs.
Provide technical support and contribute to all housing restoration activities. Coordination and Representation
- Collaborate with relevant internal and external technical experts on matters relevant to the sector.
- Represent DRB at meetings and other relevant technical coordination meetings.
- Ensure integration with other sectors of DRB.
Logistics/Finance
- Maintain monitoring of financial commitments and expenditures against budgets and provide timely feedback on implementation of the budget.
- Proactively plan and coordinate logistical support and movement of personnel to and from various operational Districts.
Initiate procurement and ensure their fulfillment. 1 year of professional experience in the field of monitoring and supervision of construction projects, preferably with experience in the field of humanitarian response in an international non-governmental organization, UN agency, relevant ministry or local government.

at least 1 year of professional monitoring experience and supervision of construction projects, preferably with experience in the field of humanitarian response in an international non-governmental organization, UN agency, relevant ministry or local government. In addition, we also expect the following:
Required
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Architecture or in another relevant field will be an advantage. Vocational and technical education or work experience in construction that can replace technical education.
- Experience in performing administrative tasks.
- Excellent command of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Professional command of the Ukrainian language.
Desirable
- Skills in working with GIS software and CAD systems .
- Basic knowledge of the English language.
