Junior Hardware QA Engineer in Ajax Systems

R&D is responsible for the development of devices at Ajax, which consists of four departments: System, Device, Automation and QA.

We are looking for a new player in the Automation Department to strengthen the QA Engineer team.

The main goal of the automation team is to ensure the efficient production of quality devices in the shortest possible time. We develop our own software and hardware, which is used at all stages of production, starting with the assembly of boards, testing electrical circuits and firmware of microcontrollers, and ending with the verification of finished devices and their completion of Starter Kits. We are looking for someone to join our QA team who enjoys testing both software and hardware. For us, QA is not a simple job according to a template, but a person with an engineering mindset, able to identify problems in complex large-scale systems. We love our product very much, but we also have high standards and do not compromise on its quality. We are supporters of common sense. For us, QA primarily means being an advocate for the end user. Therefore, the reliability of the system and its usability are the main issues that interest the QA engineer.

Tasks:

• Improve the quality of our hardware and software products for flashing and testing devices in production;
• Analyze the requirements for testing devices, program functionality and test stands;
• Preparation of checklists, test cases, test plans;
• Not just finding bugs, and with the help of logs, debugging tools and external manifestations, find out the causes of these bugs;
• Conduct research into the operation of devices and programs, troubleshoot.

Necessary knowledge and skills:

• Strong technical background (technical education);
• Knowledge and understanding of testing theory (who is QA, what does he do, and what are there for this techniques);
• Ability to compile - test cases, user scenarios, checklists;
• Ability to correctly describe a bug report and manage the life cycle of a bug;
• Work with bug tracking systems (Jira);
• Ability to work with databases and SQL queries;
• Understanding the principle of operation of basic electronic components (resistor, capacitor, transistor...);
• Basic skills of reading electrical diagrams and knowledge of the graphic image of electrical components;
• Communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team;
• English at the level of reading and understanding documentation.

Will be a plus:

• Knowledge of the version control system (git);
• AwarenessI know what a database is and how they are arranged;
• Experience working with KVPiA or installation and adjustment of low-current systems.
