In DRB has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, we currently have more than 800 employees in Ukraine and we continue to significantly expand our operations in 2024 to implement emergency response measures in the areas of protection, livelihoods, housing and humanitarian disarmament and peacebuilding (humanitarian demining).

About work

This position is focused on the territory of the Kharkiv region and ensures compliance with the procedures and instructions of the DRB within this territory. The position helps develop strategies that translate into action plans and daily tasks.

Essential Responsibilities ties

Monitoring

  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data at the field level
  • Support the development of monitoring tools to be used during activities and assistance
  • During monitoring activities, ensure that beneficiaries are treated with respect, apply the principles of confidentiality and informed consent
  • Conduct data collection work
  • On potentially sensitive issues cases or sensitive issues that may be observed at the field level, refer to the monitoring and data evaluation specialist
  • Inform the supervisor about any security incident that may occur
  • Resolve problems and conflicts that may arise during monitoring and responding to minor complaints coming from beneficiaries
  • Reporting and information

    • Provide weekly and monthly reports to the monitoring specialist and evaluation of monitoring achievements and issues
    • Security cases identified and communicated in coordination with the security team

    • Prepare periodic monitoring reports to ensure that programs have accurate and useful data on which to base project development
    • Participate in internal program evaluation

    • Ensure that activities comply with the principles of accountability of the DRB
    • Support the implementation of the DRB complaint handling mechanism

    About you

    To be successful in this position, we expect you to have at least 1 year of direct experience in monitoring and evaluation, as well as the ability to analyze data and summarize it for different audiences.

    Required experience and competencies

    • Learning in quantitative methodologies, including database management.
    • Strong analytical skills and an understanding of a range of monitoring and evaluation techniques to facilitate evidence-based learning.
    • Demonstrated ability and understanding of developing, commissioning and managing evaluation methodologies and techniques such as focus group discussions, key informant interviews, observations, etc.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent command of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Ability to gain support from team staff and members as well as build capacity of others.
    • Ability to coordinate effective allocation of resources to ensure quality programs.
    • Experience of working within budget constraints.
    • Experience of qualitative research methods
    • Proficiency in English at B1 level
    • Fluency in Ukrainian language

    Education:

    Specialist and/or Master's degree in social sciences, development, program evaluation, data, economics, econometrics and operations research or related fields.

    • Contract: Permanent, after a 3-month trial period

    • Wages and working conditions will be in accordance with the employment conditions for citizens of the Danish Refugee Council.
