MISSION:

The humanitarian organization "Arzte der Welt" is the German division of the international network "Doctors of the World" (Medecins du Monde/Doctors of the World (MdM)). 17 national members of the network implement both domestic and international projects in the field of health care, currently we have almost 340 projects in 75 countries of the world.

MdM provides emergency medical care during natural disasters and crisis situations, supports access to medical care and, where possible, assists in recovery efforts. In particular, the network is actively involved in risk reduction and preparedness, as well as long-term cooperation in underserved regions around the world. MdM Germany ensures that its health services are provided on equal terms to the most vulnerable citizens, refugees, internally displaced persons and host communities, regardless of their ethnic and social origin, religious or political beliefs. 

MdM has been working in Ukraine since 2015, focusing on the most vulnerable segments of the population and people, improving access and quality of medical services for the population. Since February 2022, the MdM organization has restructured its representation in Ukraine and corresponding changes have been made to the program. Currently, MdM has a coordination office in Dnipro and field offices in Vinnytsia and Kramatorsk. Emergency response in Ukraine is currently implemented around two main components: direct service delivery through multidisciplinary mobile teams (including primary health care, sexual reproductive health, psychosocial mental health support and support for victims of gender-based violence) to IDPs and strengthening local systems health care by distributing medicines and medical supplies to several hospitals and primary care facilities. 

The main place of work is the city of Dnipro, with trips within Ukraine.

The IT specialist is part of the logistics team, works under under the direct supervision of the logistician.

Under the direct supervision of the IT logistician, the specialist will be responsible for the following:

Maintenance, proper management, control and monitoring of IT and telecommunications equipment, tools and services in the Dnipro office supporting the logistics department located in Kramatorsk and Vinnytsia in Ukraine in accordance with MDM rules and procedures. He/she also provides user training to ensure proper use of IT services and equipment.

General Description of Responsibilities:

  • Provide and /or guaranteeing the general management and monitoring of ICT (information and communication technologies) and equipment;
  • Supervising the security of equipment and the proper use of it and communication resources of the office;
  • Ensuring effective service users.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to other MdM Germany units in program activities and ongoing events.
  • Be - any other duties at the request of the logistician and the Head of the Branch in the field of management and coordination.

Note. This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and may change depending on the situation.

 Requirements: 

  • Basic high school education and formal technical training. The presence of certificates in this field will be an advantage.
  • Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian languages;
  • Basic communication and written English skills;
  • Experience as a system administrator (experience work in the IT field) - at least 3 years.
  • Previous work experience in humanitarian programs will be an advantage.
  • Experienced PC user: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
