International Solidarity (SI) — an international humanitarian non-governmental organization that has been working for over 40 years and helps populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by providing the vital needs of food, water and shelter. In particular, SI is involved in the fight against diseases related to unsafe water, which is one of the leading causes of death in the world. SI provides expertise in access to drinking water, improved sanitation and hygiene, and food security and livelihoods. With a presence in approximately twenty countries, SI teams—a total of 2,000 people made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent headquarters staff, and volunteers—work with professionalism and dedication, while respecting culture.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Logistics Specialist, the Information Technology Specialist provides mission-wide IT support. He/she is the contact person for IT administration (network, e-mail addresses, support) and is a technical advisor for IT policies, asset and data management. He/she is also a consultant on functional issues at the regional level.


OBOV' LANGUAGES:


Network administration:

  • Perform independent direct management of the network in the coordination and regional offices
  • Ensure that standard network processes are implemented at the level of the regional offices and also provide them with technical support
  • Ensure network security in the mission (access/data protection)
  • Perform remote management/configuration of NAS and routers for regional offices if appropriate equipment is available


Internet access:

  • Conduct technical analysis of service providers’ proposals to confirm the technical side of procurement
  • Provide Internet access for authorized users
  • Conduct increased network bandwidth for the mission
  • Ensure regular contact with providers


Configuring workstations:

  • Configuring new mission workstations according to standardstives set by "International Solidarity" before handing them over to the user (desktop and laptop)
  • Check that all computers use standard operating system and software
  • Check that IT equipment is secure (uninterruptible power supply, stabilizer, etc.)
  • Manage email accounts and software licenses for the mission
  • Provide computer setup support (electronic mail, software, basic maintenance) directly to the user at the level of coordination and at the level of bases


Equipment maintenance:< /u>

  • Provide technical support to users on basic maintenance
  • Perform early software and hardware maintenance as needed
  • Maintain inventory problems and keep records of how they were resolved
  • With the prior approval of the immediate supervisor, contact the head office IT department to diagnose all requests to return IT equipment to headquarters for after-sales service maintenance and verify this with the head office IT department
  • Check that the equipment to be returned to the head office is securely packed and accompanied by technical support documentation: fault description form etc.


User support:

  • Provide technical support to the coordination and regional offices in the form of a hotline
  • Make technical visits to regional offices, if necessary or at the request of the logistics coordinator
  • If necessary, organize trainings on the use of IT equipment for users (use, maintenance)

    Data backup and security:

    • Implement and provide technical advice on mission data policy 
    • Provide tailored backups for all users (external hard drives, NAS...)


    < p>IT Equipment Management:

    • Monitor computer updates in the mission
    • Conduct regular inventory of IT mission equipment, monitor equipment distribution
    • Provide recommendations to the logistics specialist on the need to upgrade IT equipment
    • Ensure proper use of IT equipment
    • Update information on the overall equipment fleet for the mission

    Licenses and User Account Management :

    • Provide mission level control over software licenses, email account, sim cards
    • Update contact list missions (emails, phones) 


    Supply management and procurement:

    • Determine the need for the supply of spare parts for network equipment and consumables (printer cartridges, toner, etc.)
    • Consultvati on mission equipment ICT standards (recommended brand, model...)
    • Provide technical validation support to suppliers
    • Be contact person for suppliers on technical topics

    • Logistics specialist support:

      • Perform simple tasks only for in the absence of a logistics specialist
      • Make online bookings
      • Be the contact person for minor problems in the area of ​​facilities management
      • Manage the movement plan and travel communication
      • < li>Manage placement


      REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES:

      Education:Higher education in the field of information technologies

      Experience: Preferably 2 years of experience in information technologies

      Knowledge languages: Fluency in Ukrainian, English - B2 and above

      IT knowledge: Basic maintenance of laptops, infrastructure and telecommunications equipment

      < strong>Personal qualities: ability to communicate information easily, sociability, curiosity


      WORKING CONDITIONS:

      Place of work: office at the address: Kyiv, str. Olesya Honchara, bldg. 57B. Possible business trips to Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson regions. 

      Contract: fixed-term employment contract (according to Ukrainian legislation)

      Type of employment: full-time employment

      Salary: 1125 EUR gross (before tax, paid in hryvnias, according to the monthly exchange rate of the bank of the European Commission)

      Additional: holiday 31 calendar days, additional paid family leave, life insurance.

      DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION 

       

      Under the logistic assistant, the logistic officer IT is the focal point for IT support and IT expertise on the mission. 

      He/she is the entry point with IT department for technical IT administration (network, e-mail address, support…). 

      He/she is the technical advisor on the mission for IT related policy, assets and data management. 

      He/she is the functional referent at base level.  

       

      RESPONSIBILITIES:


      Network administration:

      • Perform direct network management at coordination and base 
      • Provide technical support and insure that network standard process are implemented at base level 
      • Organize network security through the mission (access / data security…). 
      • Perform remote management / setup of NAS and Routers for bases if adapted hardware is available


      Internet Access:

      • Perform technical analysis of service provider offers to validate the technical side of procurement
      • Ensure that authorized users have internet access 
      • Perform the sizing of bandwidth needs through the mission 
      • Insure regular contacts with providers


      Workstation configuration:

      • Configure new mission workstations respecting the standards set by Solidarites International before handing out to a user (Desktop and Laptop) 
      • Check that every computer uses the standard operating system and software 
      • Check that sensitive IT materials are protected (uninterruptible power supply, stabiliser, etc.) 
      • Manage email accounts and software licences at mission level 
      • Provide support in computer configuration (e-mail, software installing, basic maintenance) directly to user at coordination level or at base level 

       

      Maintenance of equipment:

      • Provide user with technical support on basic maintenance
      • Perform advance maintenance on software and hardware according to needs 
      • Compile a list of breakdowns and keep records of how they were resolved for reference
      • With the prior approval from line manager, contact the Headquarter IT Department service for Carry out a diagnosis for all requests for IT equipment to be returned to HQ for after-sales service and verify with the Headquarter IT Department 
      • Check that equipment to be returned to HQ is securely packaged and accompanied by technical support documentation: breakdown form, etc.

       

      Users support:

      • Provide technical support to bases, in the form of a hotline 
      • Carry out technical visits to bases when necessary or at the request of the Logistics coordinator 
      • Organize training sessions on use of IT equipment for users if necessary (use, maintenance) 

       

      Backup and data security:

      • provide technical advises on the mission data policy 
      • Implement the mission data policy  
      • Provide adapted backups mean to all user (external hard drives, NAS…) 

       

      IT equipment management:

      • Monitor mission computers updates 
      • Carry out regular physical inventories of mission IT equipment, monitor the allocation of equipments 
      • Advise the log assistant on IT equipment renewal need 
      • Ensure correct use of IT equipment 
      • Update of the general Park statement

       

      Software License, user account management:

      • Insure the follow-up of the software licences at mission level (record, renewal….) 
      • Insure the follow-up of the e-mail account at mission level (record, renewal….) 
      • Insure the follow-up of sim cards 
      • Insure the update of the mission contact list (e-mails, phones….)


      Management of supplies:

      • identify the supply needs of spare parts for network equipment 
      • Identify the supply needs of consumables (printer cartridges, toner, etc.) 


      Purchases: 

      • Advise on ICT equipment standards for the mission (recommended brand, model...)
      • Support in supplier technical validation 
      • Is the entry point with supplier for technical Topics 


      Back up of logistic assistant:

      • Realize simple tasks only during absence of logistic assistant 
      • Online booking 
      • Premises management focal point for small emergencies 
      • Movement plan management and communications for travel 
      • Accommodation management 


      PROFILE FORSAKEN

      Studies: Higher education in the field of information technology

      Experience: 2 years minimum recommended as IT assistant, but not mandatory

      Language: Fluency in Ukrainian, English - B2 and above

      IT: Basics maintenance for laptops, infrastructures and telecommunication means

      Soft skills: ability to communicate information in an accessible manner, sociability, curiosity


      WORKING CONDITIONS

      Contract: fixed-term contract (according to Ukrainian legislation)
