We clear areas of mines and explosive devices so that communities and countries can return to normal life. HALO's mission is to restore safe access to areas contaminated by explosive ordnance, thereby protecting lives and restoring economic development opportunities for war-torn communities. 

Due to the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, HALO is expanding its staff and looking for employees for the position of information processing specialists of non-technical survey groups.

The purpose of this work is to collect and organize aquatic information about the type, nature and properties of explosive remnants of war on the territory of Ukraine. This will allow HALO to respond more quickly and deploy activities in affected areas and ensure more targeted and effective work.

The Information Processing Specialist must:

- Be part of a team responsible for collecting and processing information to ensure the accurate and efficient collection and storage of a range of operational data.
- Monitor the correct entry of information into the internal database of HALO and its relevance.
- As part of the non-technical survey group, find and collect information about the dangerous area, the location of mines, the history of land treatment in the vicinity and establishing contact with the victims of incidents and the local population.
- Provide a timely report on the work performed, take care of providing the group with property and equipment in advancenecessary for the performance of work.
- Help the manager to collect personal data of the witness (to confirm the information provided during the planning of future demining operations) and take photos of the dangerous area.
- When detecting an explosive object, help the team leader to carry out marking and hand over the explosive object to the competent authorities.
- Organize storage, monitor the proper operation and maintenance of equipment and protective equipment by the personnel of the group.
- Conduct presentations on mine protection.
- Perform other relevant assignments of the group leader of the non-technical examination unit or its deputy

Requirements:

  • Express analytical, organizational, communication skills.

  • Experience in data processing and large volumes of information.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, political science, military history, international relations, or related disciplines.

  • Excellent time allocation and prioritization skills, ability to work in multitasking mode.

  • Ability to work in a team and under stressful conditions.

  • Ability to make presentations. good communication skills.

  • Discipline, attention to detail and diligence.

  • No problems with alcohol and drug use.
  • No criminal record.
  • Have an orderly package of documents from military registration (attributable, military ID with a note about taking or removing from registration in RTCC and SP).

We would prefer if you:

  • Have knowledge and understanding of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software.
  • Have knowledge of explosive objects.
  • Know and be able to work in programs: Word, Excel, Google Earth.
  • Having a category "B" driver's license, experience driving a manual gearbox.
  • Can communicate in English.
