Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and Assessment and Data Coordination Manager the direct supervision of Information Management and Geographic Information System Officer (DTM), the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Data and analytics Information Management (IM) sub-unit with data processing, quality control, analysis, mapping, and visualization, following the predefined IM standard operation procedures (SOPs) and workflows in support of Data & Analytics Unit.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Support the timely preparation, maintenance, and provision of geographic information and maps for the Data and Analytics unit by utilizing Geographic Information System GIS (mapping) software and related equipment.
- Assist in the development, quality control, and reproduction of mapping products in appropriate formats in English and Ukrainian to support the reporting team across four assessments.
- Support the creation and refinement of user-friendly, efficient online data collection tools using Kobo, ensuring they are tailored and fit for purpose. Stay updated with the latest features and best practices in Kobo to continuously improve tool functionality.
- Assist in capacity-building initiatives for the Information Management team to enhance skills within the Data and Analytics unit, particularly in the use of online data collection tools like Kobo.
- Support the implementation of data quality assurance protocols to ensure the accuracy and integrity of collected data across all assessments.
- Support the development and implementation of Python scripts for automating the processing, quality control, and analysis of data, with a specific focus on emergency products.
- Assist in the preparation of user manuals and the conduction of training programs for the operation team.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- High School diploma/certificate with five years of relevant experience;
- or
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Management, Computer science, Geographic information and Remote Sensing Systems or any related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Experience managing and utilizing automated data pipelines for quality control, data cleaning, and data analysis is a distinct advantage;
- Experience working in humanitarian or development organizations is an advantage;
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage;
- Experience in using enterprise or open-source geographic information system is required;
- Experience in delivering end-user training, undertaking information systems support, and coordination with team members with different levels of technical knowledge and abilities is an advantage.
Skills
- Reliable ability to use of at minimum one statistical software (Python, R) is required;
- Proven ability to useonline data collection platforms is required;
- Data visualization skills using Adobe Suite is desirable.
Languages
Fluency in English and Ukrainian (oral and written) is required.
