The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading international humanitarian organization whose main objective is to protect, support and promote long-term solutions for displaced people.

DRB has existed in Ukraine since 2014. At the moment, DRB has more than 800 employees working in Ukraine to implement emergency response in the sectors of social and legal protection, livelihoods, housing reconstruction and humanitarian disarmament and peacebuilding (humanitarian demining), providing direct support to responsible individuals and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), as well as their partners. DRB will continue to develop long-term solutions, adapting them to the changing situation.

DRB is currently looking for a HR organizer to join the team in Mykolaiv.

 General purpose of the role:

The HR organizer will be responsible for supporting HR operations, including recruitment, HR administration, HR consulting and employee support, HR documentation and compliance, HR systems and data management, leave, time and attendance management, etc.

Your main job responsibilities will be:

  • Provide advice to employees and managers on internal policies, procedures and other HR-related matters
  • Support and manage recruitment processes, including job posting, candidate selection, conducting interviews and reference checks
  • Assist in planning and ensuring compliance of job descriptions with the organizational structure
  • Prepare time sheets twice a month for all employees in the area of responsibility and provide HR data necessary for payroll
  • Maintain and administer employee personal files and HR documentation
  • Perform hiring, transfers, contract renewals and terminations in accordance with labor law
  • Prepare annual reports on remaining vacations for management, issue internal HR orders, coordinate archiving with the DRB country office and ensure consistency of vacation data across all HR platforms
  • Perform HR user functions in HR systems, including hiring, firing, and renewing employee contracts, reviewing and approving vacation requests, benefits, and compensation
  • Coordinate paperwork with other DRB offices

About you:

To be successful in this position, we expect you to have at least 2 years of experience in human resource management, recruiting, administration, or a related field. In addition, we expect the following:

Mandatory

  • Higher education in the specialty "Management of human resources and labor economics", "Law","Documentation and information activities", "Archives" or a related specialty.
  • Practical experience in personnel administration (preparation and processing of recruitment, extension of contracts, transfers and dismissals, keeping records of employees and personal files, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and personnel administration
  • Experience with HRIS/ERP systems and data management
  • Experience in administration of vacation applications and preparation of time sheets
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage priorities
  • Knowledge of English (level B2 or higher), fluent in Ukrainian
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Desirable

  • Additional certification in HR and/or recruiting would be an advantage

We offer:

  • Contract: 12 months renewable depending on performance and funding after successful completion of the 3-month trial period
  • Position level: H - non-managerial.
  • Place of work: Mykolaiv.
  • Start date: March 2026.

Salaries and conditions will be in accordance with the Conditions of Employment of National Staff of the Danish Refugee Council.
