We are currently at the stage of large-scale product transformation. We are moving away from the model where responsibility for UX was blurred between Product Owners and designers, and creating a single center of competence and responsibility.
Head of UX/UI mission: Transform disparate interface solutions into a integrated product ecosystem, build mature design processes and create a customer experience that will become a benchmark (benchmark) on the Ukrainian E-commerce market. We are looking for a leader who will prove that design is a tool to influence the company's profit.
Key areas of responsibility:
A. Strategy and Product Leadership
- Development of UX strategy: Formation of a long-term vision for the development of site and mobile application interfaces. Synchronization of the design strategy with the company's business goals.
- Centralization of decision-making: Transition from situational collegial discussion to expert decision-making. You become the final instance in matters of interface quality and interaction logic.
- Creating a Benchmark: Analysis of the best global practices (Baymard Institute, Nielsen Norman Group) and implementation of solutions that are ahead of the market, rather than copying it.
- Holistic View: Ensuring a seamless experience (Omnichannel). The customer should experience a single ecosystem when moving between desktop, mobile, application and in-store terminals.
B. Economic efficiency and Analytics
- Impact on P&L: Designing interfaces with a focus on improving key metrics: Conversion Rate (CR), Average Order Value (AOV), Customer Retention Rate.
- Data-Driven Design: All key changes must be justified by data. Work with funnels, heat maps and A/B testing results to defend your decisions.
- Optimization of the customer journey: Identification and elimination of "bottlenecks" in the CJM (Customer Journey Map) that lead to loss of funds or loyalty.
B. Construction of processes and Design-system
- Design Ops: Setting up an effective process of transfer of layouts to development (Handoff), implementation quality control (Design Review) and minimization of "design-debt".
- Design System: Creation, development and support of a single design system. Goal: acceleration of Time-to-Market of new features and unification of UI on all platforms.
- Research Culture: Implementation of regular practices of user research (Usability Testing, CustDev, in-depth interviews) before the stage of writing code.
G. Team Management
- Audit of current team and processes.
- Hiring, onboarding, mentoring and development of UX/UI designers.
- Building a culture where designers understand the business context bydacha, and not just "draw screens".
Candidate requirements:
Experience and expertise:
- 5+ years of experience in Product Design / UX/UI.
- 2+ years of experience in a managerial position (Head of Design, Art Director, Lead Product Designer).
- Mandatory experience in E-commerce, Retail, Fintechor large marketplaces (SaaS B2C). You need to understand the specifics of highly loaded transactional products.
- Portfolio with business cases: It is important for us to see not just beautiful pictures, but examples of "It was - It became - What result it gave in numbers".
Hard Skills
- Tools: Expert level Figma (Auto Layout, Variables, Interactive Components, Smart Animate).
- Analytics: Confident command of analytics tools (Google Analytics 4, Hotjar/Clarity, Plerdy) to validate solutions.
- Prototyping: Ability to quickly create interactive prototypes for hypothesis testing.
- Methodologies: Deep understanding of Human Centered Design, Jobs To Be Done (JTBD), Design Thinking.
- Platforms: Deep knowledge of iOS (HIG) and Android (Material 3) guidelines, as well as responsive web design principles.
Soft Skills & Mindset
- Business thinking: You speak the language of business (money, conversion, deadlines), not just the language of aesthetics.
- Leadership position: Ability to reasonedly say "No" to stakeholders (including C-level) if the proposed solution harms UX, and propose an alternative.
- Autonomy: Ability to independently set goals and achieve them in the context of process transformation.
Criteria for success (KPIs) for the trial period (3 months):
- Audit: A full UX audit of the current site and application was conducted, a list of critical problems (Quick Wins) and strategic growth areas was formed.
- Processes: A new workflow of the design team (from idea to release) was formalized and agreed upon.
- Strategy: A RoadMap of UX/UI development for the coming year was presented with focus on the unification of experience.
- Team: Competencies of the current team are assessed, a development or hiring plan is drawn up.
