KSE is growing – and the security of this growth needs a strong leader. This role is critically important for the stable functioning and development of the School in times of increased risks. We are looking for a strategic professional who sees security as part of trust and culture.
About the role
For many years, security at KSE has been a collaborative effort between management, teams and individual professionals. But we have grown not only quantitatively, but also in terms of the level of risks, the scope of our activities and our responsibility towards those who work, study and cooperate with us. Now there are almost 800 of us. We develop in the conditions of war, work with international partners, implement large projects, attract students, teachers, opinion leaders and donors.
In 2025, we acquired a large educational campus in Obolon - open, spacious, multifunctional. It should become a place for meetings, training, events, and dialogue. But with such openness comes the level of complexity - this is where the most challenges will be.
The role of Head of Security is new to KSE. For the first time, we are creating a full-fledged system security function. And we need a person who will build it according to the best international standards: without excessive pressure, but with strategic foresight, systematic work, a culture of prevention, flexible response scenarios and clear risk management.
Key focuses:
Creation and implementation of a full-fledged security system in an organization of an educational, analytical and humanitarian type.
Construction security architecture of the new open campus - a balance between accessibility and security.
Formation of understandable, clear and adaptive procedures based on the best global practices.
Integration of physical, cyber, economic and internal security into a single system.
Formation and development of an internal team, management of contractors, interaction with government structures.
Main responsibilities:
Development, implementation and constant updating of the KSE security strategy.
Building a protection system for the open educational campus in Obolon.
Assessment of risks for each object and line of activity, implementation of preventive solutions
Organization of physical security: access control, security, safe routes, video surveillance, object control.
Building economic security: fraud prevention, verification of counterparties, protection of resources.
Information security management: protection of confidential information, data, intellectual property.
Cooperation with IT regarding cyber protection: risk assessment, security policy, testing.
Organization of work with internal incidents, prevention of leaks, conflicts, manipulation.
Building emergency response mechanisms: action plans, training, working out scenarios.
Implementation of security policies for events, visits, training.
Management interaction with security companies, the legal team and government bodies.
Formation of the reporting structure, preparation of monthly analytical reports on risks and incidents.
Formation and management of the security budget, prioritization of expenses.
Hiring, development and management of the internal security team.
Creating a security culture in the organization: simple rules, clear expectations, regular communication.
This role requires:
At least 15 years of security experience: experience in law enforcement, civil service, corporate sector and/or international organizations will be an advantage.
Experience building security systems from scratch or managing them in large organizations (preferably in educational, humanitarian or public sector).
Understanding international security standards.
Practical experience of working with physical, economic, information security, cyber security.
Experience of managing teams, contractors, security services.
Experience of interaction with state authorities, law enforcement structures, international donors.
Ability to prepare policies, procedures, risk assessments, response scenarios.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment, with a high level of responsibility.
High ethics, discipline, stress resistance, confidentiality.
Proficiency in English at the level of reading technical documentation and communication with partners.
