About work:
The Rural Economic Development Department Project Manager will manage and supervise the implementation of economic recovery measures aimed at supporting rural households and businesses, including, but not limited to, providing sectoral funds to farmers who farm for their own needs and small farms, as well as providing grants and developing the potential of agribusiness. He/she will be responsible for managing and overseeing the activities of the Rural Economic Development Team and providing technical support and guidance to the team.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Manage and supervise rural economic development team, provide recommendations and support the conduct of work meetings and meetings, develop work plans, conduct performance reviews and recruitment/hiring of new employees.
- Support the Economic Development Manager during the start-up and close-out phases project, including resource planning, geographic targeting, and summarizing lessons learned.
- Continuously coordinate with the Urban Economic Revitalization Division Project Team Leader and his/her team to share information, lessons learned, and ensure alignment of economic recovery programs recovery.
- Interact with stakeholders and representatives of key institutions and organizations such as focal points, farmers' associations and agricultural service providers.
- Provide support in revising SOPs and tools on which programs are being implemented in the agricultural sector.
- Ensure timely and high-quality provision of services to contracted organizations, for example, for the provision of coaching and other consulting services for agribusinesses.
- Develop work plans for project activities and tracking the progress of their implementation in accordance with project goals and indicators.
- Maintain the monitoring of costs within the framework of the project in accordance with the budget and provide timely feedback on compliance with the budget.
- Plan and coordinate project logistics and team movement plans, as well as initiating the process of purchasing materials for the project.
- Pr.conduct training needs assessments of staff and beneficiary groups, as well as develop, review and adapt training materials on topics related to rural and agricultural livelihoods.
- Lead team capacity building and program team mentoring on the economic recovery of rural areas.
- Coordinate work with other organizations and interested parties working in the same field, with the aim of ensuring the comprehensiveness and effectiveness of economic recovery programs.
- Participate in coordination meetings, in relevant external forums, as well as ensuring the sharing of relevant information and minutes of meetings with relevant colleagues.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with relevant partner institutions, community leaders and service providers.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to donors and stakeholders in the DRB, as well as maintaining and updating program documentation.
- Contribute to the provision of field-related information for the preparation of new project funding proposals , including review of assessment tools.
- Maintain partnership opportunities with NGOs, duty bearers and the private sector at the regional level.
- Any other duties that may be entrusted to the employee by the Program Manager of the Department of Economic Recovery, which relate to the achievement of the goals of economic recovery of rural areas.
About you:
We believe that to be successful in this role, you need to have strong skills and experience in the livelihoods of the agricultural sector, as well as team management skills and experience.
Required:
- Professional and technical education in the field of agriculture, agronomy, technologies of production and processing of livestock products, agricultural engineering or other relevant discipline.
- Previous experience managing a team or supervising team members.
- Understanding the specifics of vulnerable populations, including people with disabilities and older people, and inclusive participation in economic recovery.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with vulnerable populations, employees and stakeholders of diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize work and handle multiple responsibilities.
- Strong sense of personal integrity and understanding of privacy and ethics.
- Possessive Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange, Windows operating systems.
- Fluent command of Ukrainian
- Good professional commandin English.
Preferred
- Work experience in public or non-governmental organizations
