Representation of the Danish Council for Refugees in Ukraine (hereinafter DRB) is an international non-governmental organization , which encourages and supports long-term solutions to the challenges faced by refugees and internally displaced people worldwide.

DRB is currently looking for a Team Leader of the Emergency Humanitarian Response Program for its activities inSlovyansk.

About work:

  • Providing high-quality services to people affected by emergency situations and monitoring the provision of these services;
  • Supervising the work of the Emergency Humanitarian Response Program team;
  • Providing to the team technical support and recommendations;
  • Ensuring the quality of planning, implementation and further support of all technical aspects of the activities of this sector, which is carried out in the DRB;
  • Development and maintenance of good relations with people who receive assistance , relevant stakeholders and other actors in the humanitarian sphere to support the proper implementation and coordination of the activities of this sector of the DRB.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Guide

  • Manage and lead the team (this also includes planning, performance, welfare and staff development)
  • Ensure effective planning and quality implementation of emergency humanitarian response activities, including distribution (distribution) of multi-purpose cash assistance (MCA), non-food kits (NPC), hygiene kits and construction kits for the restoration of damaged housing
  • Ensure daily monitoring of the emergency humanitarian response program team in Donetsk region and daily assess the quality of activities

  • Provide technical support and necessary data and resources to the team
  • Ensure necessary reporting - both internal and external

Programs and Operations

  • Ensure efficient and effective implementation of programs while adhering to budget and work plan
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual reports/reviews and proposals and budget for donors< /li>
  • Lead the team during monitoring and evaluation activities
  • Proactively plan and coordinate the logistics and movement of personnel to and from various operational areas, as well as coordinate with the security team.

  • Initiate purchases and ensure their execution
  • Ensure timely preparation of distribution plans and their transfer to the logistics department

Coordination and Presentation

  • Collaborate with relevant internal and external technical experts on sector-related issues
  • Represent DRB at meetings and other relevant technical coordination meetings such as cluster and working group meetings for Donetsk region
  • For the need to ensure integration with other sectors of the DRB, such as housing restoration, social and legal protection, economic recovery and humanitarian demining sectors

As a team leader, you will be responsible for the following:

  • HR management of employees working in the same field
  • Ensuring that agreed work plans and work tasks set by the next level management are completed on time
  • Hiring and firing workers and conducting performance evaluations (under the close supervision of the next level manager)

About You

Experience and Competencies Required:

  • Minimum two years of experience in a managerial position, preferably in the field of humanitarian aid in an international non-governmental organization (NGO), UN agency, relevant ministry or local government.
  • Minimum 3 years practical experience in the NGO sector, preferably in the context of emergency response
  • Leadership skills and competence in people management
  • Willingness to learn and implement organizational policies and procedures.
  • Excellent working skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Professional command of Ukrainian and English languages.

We offer:

  • Duration of the contract: 3-month trial period, with the possibility of extension subject to the conditions of obtaining funding and satisfactory work results

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Employment Conditions of the Danish National Staff refugee council.
