We are hiring the Head of the Department of Food Safety and Life Support
Position duties:
General Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with NRC policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines.
- Implement the delegated portfolio of LFS projects in accordance with the action plan.
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
- Ensure proper submission of documents.
- Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and evaluate new and better ways of delivering aid.
- Provide support to all LFS team members according to project activities.
- Ensure development and implementation of high-quality program activities.
- Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in operations.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Lead and support technical evaluations, contributing to the identification of donor trends, standards and priorities to ensure program development based on fact-based.
- Coordinate the distribution of LFS-related resources such as equipment, tools, cash/vouchers, agricultural inputs and in-kind assistance, ensuring that compliance with project goals.
- Ensure the targeting of projects to target population groups through clear communication and informing communities about activities, oversight and empowerment to increase awareness and inclusion. li>
- Actively participate in coordination at the local level with stakeholders in the communities by participating in relevant meetings such as the LFS sub-cluster working group and the cash working group, in accordance with the instructions of the head of the LFS department.
- Coordinate closely with the logistics and finance teams to ensuresmooth and effective processing of project activities.
- Assist the line manager in preparing reports, writing proposals, developing work plans, budgets and other project documentation, provide specific technical advice, participate in development of technical guidance and provide regular reports on project progress, including issues and lessons learned.
- Promote data sharing and maintain transparency in aligning delivery and information flows in line with NRC guidelines and donor requirements.
- Integrate gender, protection, environmental and food sensitivities into all LFS plans and activities, ensuring safe and inclusive programming.
- Regularly attend/visit field offices in Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia.
- Actively support staff training, participate in the development of emergency response strategies, strengthen partnerships and assist in any additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
< span style="font-weight: 400">General requirements for the position:
- Higher education in agriculture, nutrition, social sciences, development studies or other relevant discipline is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in LFS, ideally in coordination or similar position .
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in analysis related to LFS, cash and voucher programs (CVA ), creation microenterprises, savings and financing, as well as programs related to the agricultural sector, such as agriculture, agroecology, agribusiness, soil science and nutrition.
- Documented results related to job duties.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to liaise authoritatively with representatives of the humanitarian community, local media, local government, the military and other stakeholders when necessary.
- Ability to work under pressure, independently, with limited supervision and following basic safety rules.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Good understanding of humanitarian requirements of donors and accountability to donors and the affected population.
- Good external representation skills.
- Highest standards of ethics and integrity.
- Good computer skills: demonstrate knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Share Point, OneDrive, Office 365.
Context/specific skills, knowledge and experience:
- Previous experience working in complex and volatile environments. li>
- Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian is mandatory.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, is mandatory.
- Willingness to work in difficult, stressful situations with compliance basic security rules.
- Experience working with humanitarian organizations, the private sector, donors or international agencies.
- Experience working with vulnerable population groups and the ability to demonstrate conflict sensitivity.
