Head of the data protection sector in Red Cross Ukraine

The National Committee of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine (RCSU) announces a competition for the position of Head of the Sector data protection

Red Cross Society of Ukraine is the largest humanitarian organization of Ukraine, which is one of the first to respond to all emergency situations in the country and provides help to those who need it most.

OBJECTIVE

Coordination of issues related to the data protection function, implementation of standards among employees, control of the implementation of protocols and data protection procedures in the organization's activities.

Main duties:

• Development of necessary policies, regulations, methodological recommendations and other internal documents with issues of personal data protection;
• Familiarization of heads of structural units and employees of NC ChTHU with the requirements of the legislation on the protection of personal data and changes to it, in particular, regarding the obligation not to allow disclosure in any way of personal data that was entrusted or which became known in connection with the performance of official duties;
• Organization of processing requests of third parties regarding access to personal data.
• Promoting the access of subjects of personal data to own personal data.
• Conducting training, briefings, providing methodical assistance and monitoring the knowledge, skills and abilities of employees of NC TCHHU on issues of ensuring the protection of personal data;
• Approving draft regulations on structural subdivisions, employees who process personal data, and job descriptions of employees who process personal data or have access to them, if necessary, initiate the introduction of necessary changes and additions to the provisions on structural subdivisions and job descriptions;
• Development and implementation of measures, which must be taken to bring the composition of personal data and their processing procedures into compliance with the law.
• Control over the implementation of measures that must be taken by the structural divisions of the NC TCHHU to bring the composition of personal data and their processing procedures into compliance with the law.
• Fixing the facts of violations of the process of processing and protecting personal data (including in the relevant risk registers), developing measures to correct such violations and prevent such violations in the further activities of the NC of the TCHHU;
• Identifying the facts of the implementation of operational risk, informing about the identified risks in accordance with the rules defined in the internal documents of the NC TCHHU, which regulate the management of operational risk.

Additional duties/ Additional Tasks:                                

• Actively work to achieve the goals of the TCHU
• Follow the principles of the Red Cross Movement and work in accordance with them
• Perform any other work-related tasks and duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

Skills and qualifications:

< li>University degree or equivalent
• Certificates in the field of data protection (GDPR, etc.) will be a plusom
• Work experience in the field of data protection for at least two years
• Experience in developing documents regulating data protection
• Knowledge of the principles of modeling and description of business processes, understanding life cycle management of business processes, as well as change management within the framework of continuous improvement of business processes will be a plus
• Experience in handling requests from third parties regarding access to personal data, responses to requests from regulatory authorities will be a plus
• li>Knowledge of international regulations and standards in the field of data security (GDPR)
• Knowledge of risk management methodology, risk assessment, development and implementation of internal controls - desirable
• Knowledge of information asset inventory methodology , including advice on the classification, labeling and acceptable storage locations of information assets - preferred
• Good communication skills
• Strong security analytical skills a plus
• Good conversational skills and written Ukrainian language
• Spoken and written English will be an advantage.
