The Ukrainian Red Cross is thousands of people across Ukraine who make the world a better place every day. Job duties and responsibilities:
- Plan and carry out general management of the department’s activities, coordinate the work of its employees.
- Develop policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the URCS in the areas of in-kind and cash humanitarian assistance to the population.
- Implement unified approaches to assessing and monitoring the needs of the population, preparing and distributing in-kind assistance, as well as organizing registrations for receiving humanitarian assistance and monitoring its use.
- Coordinate the distribution and use of humanitarian aid in the URCS in accordance with the current internal requirements, report to the management and provide suggestions for improving the activities.
- Establish interaction between the Department and other structural units both within the Department and with related departments in the URCS that may be involved in providing humanitarian assistance to the population at any stage of the humanitarian aid program.
- Develop tools for interregional distribution and resource mobilization to provide humanitarian assistance to the population in the regions.
- Monitor the relevance of needs assessment among the population in view of the humanitarian situation in order to meet basic needs for emergency stockpiling, providing humanitarian assistance immediately after a disaster occurs and supporting the population at the phase of early recovery. Promote the development of appropriate plans for the creation of disaster stockpiles and monitoring of needs among the population at the oblast level.
- Conduct monitoring visits to regional and city URCS organizations, provide methodological support and evaluate their operational activities.
- Develop and participate in trainings aimed at raising awareness of employees on the provision of humanitarian aid by the URCS.
- Interact with the URCS partners on the issues of providing humanitarian aid to the population and coordination of actions.
- To achieve the goals of the URCS, adhering to the principles of the Red Cross and acting in accordance with them.
- To actively communicate and uphold the values of the organization, working to achieve high standards of performance.
Position Requirements:
- Higher education, preferably in one of the following areas: «Management and Administration», «Finance and Audit», «Marketing», «Management» or another related area.
- Over 2 years of experience in management positions.
- Experience working in relief unit.
- Experience working or cooperating with humanitarian organizations.
- Confident MS Office user.
- Developed organizational and executive skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to working in software (Odoo — ERP and CRM system, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and in a team, quick adaptation.
- Ability to cope with stress and work under time pressure.
- Ability to prepare and execute reports.
- Ability to process large amounts of information and competently maintain current documentation.
- English (at least B1).
