Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the quality, efficiency and economics of administrative and commercial support processes in the areas of Accounting and Payments in S4HANA.
  • Ensuring compliance with company-wide procedures (P+R), country-specific guidelines and national legal requirements.
  • Management of employees (range 7-9) in accordance with GIZ management principles and guidelines to promote a sense of corporate identity, enable employees to carry out tasks independently, and create scope for creativity and innovation.
  • Introducing and disseminating new policies, rules and guidelines etc. relating to administrative procedures respecting the standards in S4Hana.
  • Ensuring an efficient and effective interface management through regular knowledge transfer and contact with employees in the clusters and HQ.
  • Representation of the unit vis-a-vis business partners, internal customers and external auditors
  • Cooperation and regular exchange with Procurement team and Financial Contract Management team to align policies and processes.
  • Secures efficient, quality assured process within the standards of S4HANA.
  • Ensures management of bank accounts including management of all communication with GIZ’s local bank
  • Ensures management of funds, cash flow in bank and cash box.
  • Ensures payments in bank and cash.
  • Manages accounting
  • Ensures management of payables and receivables
  • Ensures checking of invoices related to procurement of goods
  • Supports annual Internal Controls in the projects in coordination with Head of Financial Contract Management.
  • Supports audits of/at the GIZ office of all kinds (Buro IK, revisions, others, also project-related).
  • Assigns and conducts trainings within the area of responsibility.
  • Provides advisory support to the Service Units of Clusters through the Community of Practice for Finance (jointly with Head of Financial Contract Management).
  • Is role model for internal and external networking between different teams and thinks and acts outside the boundaries of the immediate team.
  • Designs group and working procedures in line with S4Hana standards.
  • Proposes and decides on solutions for exceptional cases meeting justified client’s needs.
  • Develops themes and instruments in his/her working area and incorporates these into the overall context.
  • Makes available expertise in the context of knowledge management and also advises external parties on issues from the manager’s area of responsibility.
  • Networks with other units and takes into account management goals and requirements in providing services.

Required qualifications, professional experience and personal competences:

  • MSc/ MBA/ master’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or similar area.
  • At least 5 years’ professional experience in a comparable position with management experience.
  • Experience in managing change processes
  • Knowledge on S4HANA .
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a leading function.
  • Very good English knowledge in speaking and writing
  • Native speaker of Ukrainian
  • German knowledge is an advantage but not a must.
  • Finely tuned organisational skills and ability to work on one’s own initiative at the conceptional level.
  • Very good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office.)
  • Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management.

Employment conditions: 

Full-time position with 40-hours working week. Place of assignment is Kyiv. Starting as soon as possible. The contract duration will be 12 months with the possibility of prolongation.
