In particular, SI is involved in the fight against diseases related to unsafe water, which is one of the leading causes of death in the world. SI provides expertise in access to drinking water, improved sanitation and hygiene, and food security and livelihoods. With a presence in approximately twenty countries, SI teams—a total of 2,000 people consisting of expatriates, national staff, permanent headquarters staff and volunteers—work with professionalism and commitment, while respecting culture.

DESCRIPTION POSITIONS

< p>The occupational health and safety engineer ensures compliance with fire safety and occupational health legislation at the mission level. He/she ensures compliance with legal requirements for employee training and he/she is responsible for all necessary improvements and adjustments required at Solidarites International (SI) premises.

 

LOCATION'LANGUAGES:


Records Management

  • Conduct occupational safety and fire safety induction training for all mission personnel and make appropriate records
  • Manage the processes of registering accidents at the workplace and orders of the occupational health and safety service
  • Manage the registration of inspections by regulatory bodies and occupational health and safety instructions
  • Keep records of fire extinguishers and issue occupational health and safety instructions< /li>
  • Keep records of accidents of a non-production nature
  • Prepare reports on safety issues within the established deadlines

 

< p>Guidelines Management

  • Monitor new regulations on occupational safety, fire safety and civil defense initiatives
  • < li>Propose solutions for implementing new regulations from a safety perspective
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through regular monitoring and updates

 

< p>Development of instructions

  • Develop instructional matsmaterials on fire safety, occupational safety and general occupational safety
  • Contribute to the process of approving instructions and relevant orders
  • Participate in the improvement of labor processes in order to prevent injuries


Training

  • Organize training on fire safety and occupational hygiene and programs certifications for all employees
  • Promote safe working conditions and provide relevant information to employees
  • Propose budget allocations and participate in procurement processes related to safety during training
  • < li>Manage safety, first aid, mine and UXO, driving safety and fire safety training plans and registrations
  • Conduct staff training and development


Internal control

  • Conduct regular inspections and briefings on security protocols
  • Control and eliminate workplace violations
  • Ensure timely maintenance and replacement of equipment
  • Investigate workplace injuries and illnesses, reporting findings as required


Observance of safety measures

  • Control compliance with safety measures and in case of emergencies (including protection of premises, stocks of essential products, vehicles for evacuation, personal protective equipment, first aid kits, communication equipment)
  • Track movements in high-risk areas
  • Perform functions interim coordinator for staff safety briefings when necessary
  • Maintain driver behavior monitoring systems
  • Conduct safety and logistics assessments as required (train or road segment inspection, identification of shelters and risk areas, etc.)
  • Participate in the collection of safety information and prepare reports (INSO CHDC, open sources)


REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES:

  • Knowledge of legislation and regulatory acts in the field of labor protection, health protection and safety technology.
  • Ouniversity : Higher education
  • Experience:Experience in a similar position from 5 years
  • Knowledge oflanguages: Fluency in Ukrainian, knowledge of English - intermediate (B1) or higher< /li>
  • Knowledge IT programs : Confident user of PC and MS Office.
  • < li>Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health Engineer (CSP) or equivalent certification preferred
  • Experience in developing and delivering effective training programs preferred
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact and engage others< /li>

 

TERMS WORK :

  • Placeofwork: office at the address of Kyiv, str. Olesya Honchara, bldg. 57B.
  • Contract: fixed-term employment contract (according to Ukrainian legislation) - 6 months. Type of employment: full-time employment Salary: 1125 EUR gross (paid in hryvnias, according to the monthly exchange rate of the bank of the European Commission) >Additional: vacation 31 calendar days, paid family leave, life insurance

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION

The purpose of the Fire Safety & Occupational Health Engineer is to ensure compliance with the law in terms of Fire Safety and Occupational Health at the mission level. S/he ensures the legal requirements in terms of training of the employees are respected, and s/he is in charge of all the necessary improvement and adjustments needed in SI premises.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Journals Handling

  • Record and manage introductory briefings on labor protection and fire safety for all employees of the mission
  • Manage registration processes for workplace accidents and labor protection service prescriptions
  • Handle registration of checks by controlling bodies and labor protection instructions
  • Maintain records of fire extinguishers and issuance of occupational health and safety instructions
  • Manage registration of non-industrial accidents
  • Prepare reports on safety issues within specified timelines
  • Compile reports as per statistical requirements


Regulations Management

  • Follow-up on new regulations about labor safety, fire safety, and civil protection initiatives
  • Suggest solution to implement the new regulation in terms of safety & security
  • Ensure compliance with regulations through regular monitoring and updates


Instruction Development

  • Develop instructional materials related to fire prevention, occupational health and safety, and general labor protection
  • Facilitate approval processes for instructions and related orders
  • Participate in improving work processes to prevent injuries


Training

  • Organize training on fire safety & occupational health and certification programs for all employees
  • Promote safe working conditions and provide relevant information to employees
  • Propose budget allocations and participate in procurement processes related to safety related to training
  • Manage training plans and registrations for security, first aid, Mines & UXO, driving safety, , and fire safety
  • Conduct staff training sessions and refreshers


Internal control

  • Conduct regular checks and briefings on safety protocols
  • Monitor and address violations at workplace facilities
  • Ensure timely maintenance and replacement of equipment
  • Investigate workplace injuries and diseases, reporting findings as required


Follow-up of security measures

  • Follow-up of security and contingency measures (including premises protection, hibernation stocks, evacuation vehicles, personal protection equipment, first aid kits, communication equipment)
  • Backup tracking of movements in high-risk areas
  • Act as interim focal point for staff security briefings when required 
  • Support the driving behavior monitoring system
  • Conduct security and logistics assessments when required (train or road segment test, identification of shelters and risk areas etc.)
  • Participate in security information collection and reporting (INSO CHDC, open sources)

 

PROFILE FORSAKEN:

  • Knowledge of legislation and regulations in the field of labor protection, health protection and safety technology.
  • Studies: Higher education
  • Experience: 5 years of work experience in a similar position
  • Language : Fluency in Ukrainian, knowledge of English - intermediate (B1) and above
  • IT: Confident PC user and MS Office
  • Certified Occupational Safety and Health Engineer (CSP) or equivalent certification preferred
  • Experience in developing and conducting effective training programs is an advantage
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact and involve others
