Facilitator of the Digital Learning Center

CONTRACT DURATION: 8 months, starting August 2024

CONTEXT: < br/>People in Need (PIN)has been operating in Moldova since 2003, supporting the development of the interests of local people in three areas: agriculture and economics, social protection and inclusion, as well as support for civil society and his participation in public life. Since the beginning of 2024, People in Need Moldova has become a partner of UNICEF in the EDUTech Labs project, which aims to provide quality education to Ukrainian children. All open digital centers connect students to online learning platforms during classes led by trained teachers.

EDUTech Labs (Digital Learning Centers) also serve as a space for non-formal educational activities, including language courses, digital skills development and recreational activities. More than 70 laboratories have been created in Moldovan schools to support the social and emotional well-being and promote social cohesion of both Ukrainian and local children.

FIELD OF ACTIVITY:

• Promoting the process of online learning and informal educational activities of a group of children aged 6 to 17 years in digital centers within the framework of EDUTech Labs project.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (tasks):

• Responsible for the operation of the Digital Education Center (EDUTech Labs) according to the agreed action plan, on average provides services 6-8 hours daily;
• Supervise and support children's learning in accordance with their age, gender and abilities at agreed times;
• Ensuring a safe and child-friendly environment at EDUTech Labs;
• Conducting daily visual assessments of children and reporting suspected cases of abuse or distress;
• Providing children with a comfortable learning environment, safety and respect;
• Maintain a children’s attendance sheet daily and report weekly to the coordinator;
• Ensure all equipment is accounted for and safely stored at the end of the day;
• Understanding and following the principles of the Digital Learning Center as established by the code of conduct, child protection policy and other relevant recommendations.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS (Eligibility):

Candidates must possess the following mandatory minimum qualifications, which will be assessed on the basis criteria compliance/non-compliance:

• Bachelor's degree or higher education in the field of pedagogy, or psychology, or psychopedagogy, social sciences or social work;
• At least 2 years of experience in the field of education;
• At least 2 years of experience working with children.

OTHER PERSONAL SKILLS that will be assessed at the interview:

• Fluent knowledge of Russian or Romanian (required), Ukrainian (advantage) );
• Previous experience working with children with special needs will be considered an advantage;
• Excellent interaction and communication skills;
• Skill pwork in stressful situations (patience);
• Ability to supervise activities with a large number of children.

COST AND PAYMENT TERMS:

• To accomplish the tasks mentioned, PIN has provided a budget to pay for the services provided by each coordinator: 12,400 lei (including taxes).
• Payment/remuneration will be made monthly, based on the acceptance certificate for services (tasks).

EVALUATION:

Candidates will initially be selected based on the minimum qualification criteria specified in the “Applicant Requirements” section. Shortlisted candidates will then continue to be invited for an interview to assess their personal skills.

The contract will be signed with candidates who are found by the evaluation commission to be suitable and meet all the requirements presented in the “Requirements for Candidates” section.
