Ukrainian Network for Children's Rights (hereinafter - UMPD) was created to consolidate efforts and improve coordination between civil society organizations in Ukraine and their influence on state policy in the field of ensuring children's rights

The goal of the activity of the expert on the selection and involvement of children and youth: Ensuring the meaningful and safe participation of children and youth in the processes of forming child-oriented recommendations through the selection, involvement and facilitation of the work of representative groups within the project.

Responsibilities:

  • development of approaches to the involvement of children and youth taking into account the principles of inclusion, gender equality and diversity;
  • formation of selection criteria and ensuring the creation of representative groups of children and youth;
  • organization and selection of participants in cooperation with partners and stakeholders parties;
  • preparation of participants to participate in the project (orientation meetings, explanation of format and expectations);
  • organization and conducting of facilitated sessions / focus groups with children and youth;
  • application of child-friendly approaches and ensuring active participation of all participants;
  • creation of a safe, inclusive and non-discriminatory environment when working with by children;
  • moderation of discussions and support of dialogue during sessions;
  • recording and summarization of the results of children’s participation (ideas, suggestions, recommendations);
  • ensuring compliance with the principles of child safeguarding, Do No Harm and confidentiality;
  • interaction with the project team (analysts, lawyers, coordinators) to transfer experiences;
  • participation in coordination meetings and preparation of short reports based on the results of the work;
  • fulfillment of other tasks within the framework of project implementation, related to ensuring the participation of children and youth.

List of requirements for the candidate:

  • higher education in the field of social work, psychology, pedagogy, law or related fields;
  • experience working with children and youth, in particular with vulnerable groups;
  • experience in organizing and conducting group events, trainings or facilitated sessions / focus groups;
  • understanding of meaningful child participation and child-friendly methodologies;
  • knowledge of the principles of gender equality, inclusion and non-discrimination;
  • knowledge and compliance with the principles of child safeguarding, Do No Harm and ethical work with children;
  • ability to form and work with heterogeneous groups of participants;
  • developed facilitation, communication and organizational skills;
  • ability to work with group dynamics and ensure the involvement of all participants;
  • ability to summarize information, formulate conclusions and recommendations;
  • responsibility, attention to detail and sensitivity to children's needs;
  • high level of written and spoken Ukrainian language;
  • knowledge of English is an advantage.

Working conditions:

  • UMPD concludes contract for the provision of services with an individual entrepreneur of the 3rd group;
  • partial remote work: work online, work in the office, business trips within Ukraine;
