PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Project "Developing practices of dialogue and joint action for the future of Ukraine" aimed at strengthening the cooperation of Ukrainian civil society to implement vital peacekeeping initiatives during the war and strengthen the capacity of the Ukrainian public sector to participate in future reintegration, reconstruction and reconstruction efforts.

The project provides for conducting a training program on dialogue facilitation, supporting new facilitators in conducting dialogue sessions on community needs assessment and implementing a trauma-sensitive dialogue initiative in communities.

The target audience of the project is the communities of western, northern and central regions of Ukraine, interested in building dialogue and social cohesion.

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION

The expert in social communications and dialogue facilitation (hereinafter - the Expert) will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relations and communication with selected target communities, community leaders, facilitators, planning and solving organizational issues regarding the cooperation of facilitators with communities, organizing and conducting events in communities, in particular trainings and facilitating dialogues. The expert works under the supervision of the Coordinator for Social Cohesion and Understanding andand will report to the Project Coordinator and Manager.

The expert will carry out his activities remotely. The position involves frequent business trips for direct communication with representatives of the target communities, in particular, the western, northern and central regions of Ukraine.

MANDATORYAND RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EXPERT

  • Work autonomously with the scope of tasks and activities determined by the Social Cohesion and Understanding Coordinator and the Project Manager in the field of social cohesion and dialogue facilitation; 

  • Establish and maintain cooperation with key stakeholders, local authorities, training program participants and facilitators

  • Ensure regular and effective communication with selected communities, training program participants and facilitators

  • Prepare high-quality and timely monthly reports on the results of cooperation with the public, identify possible challenges in the implementation of the project on the ground and submit this report to the Project Manager

  • Support the resolution of organizational issues related to events for facilitators and events in communities

  • Perform personal support of off-line and online classes within the framework of the training program, if necessary, provide their moderation and facilitation;

  • With the approval and/or mandate of the Social Cohesion Coordinator, to present the project during relevant meetings with communities

  • Maintain regular communication, exchange of information with target communities

  • Support the development of tools and materials for communication and visual presence;

  • Prepare projects of analytical and monitoring reports in the direction determined by the Coordinator for Social Cohesion and Understanding, as well as documents accompanying these activities;

  • Prepare training and educational programs, conduct trainings and information events on issues of social communications, facilitated dialogue and other topics aimed at strengthening social cohesion< /span>;

  • Monitor trends in the field of decentralization and social cohesion, to inform the members of the social cohesion and understanding team about the main changes;

  • As instructed to represent the Fund at all relevant coordination forums with partner organizations and stakeholders

  • Regularly coordinate the results of activities with the social cohesion and understanding team to ensure the implementation of the direction strategy and/or make changes to it, if necessary

  • Support the activities of the Foundation in any other necessary respects and provide advice to the staff of the Foundation on any social cohesion issues as may be required.

  • Comply with all relevant policies and procedures of the Foundation, including the Code of Conduct.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Higher education in the field, social work, social sciences, social communications, development studies, public management and administration, etc.

  • Fluency in Ukrainian, English will be an advantage

  • Confirmed experience of working with communities or local self-government or management and/or coaching experience in the field of social cohesion, social communications or dialogue facilitation;

  • Experience of working with projectstopics related to humanitarian aid, sustainable development, local governance, decentralization, policy analysis and/or other relevant fields will be an advantage.

  • Experience in establishing connections with public will be an advantage;

  • Readiness for business trips within Ukraine;

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work with a group and individually

  • Ability to establish and maintain contacts

  • High level of self-motivation to achieve results.

  • Cultural sensitivity and diplomacy.

  • Fair treatment of all people, lack of favoritism.

  • Executing duties with gender sensitivity and zero tolerance for sexual harassment.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and in adverse conditions.

  • Comply with the Code of Conduct and Foundation Policies.
