Join our Online Data Engineering & Tracking (ODET) Team as a Tracking Engineer. Collaborate with global marketing, product, and cross-business teams to provide cutting-edge tracking and data engineering solutions. Maintain and develop the Sixt global web & app tracking architecture alongside the Data Engineering Wing. Manage the CDP (mParticle) and implement Server-Side Tracking Architecture using Google Stack.

Responsibilities:

•maintain the Sixt global web & app tracking architecture platform together with the Data Engineering Wing

•become technically responsible for the CDP (mPartice), will do a global assessment and complete reconfiguration, so that in the future maintain, continuously develop and evolve the platform to meet marketing and product business needs and smoothly transition marketing processes into the CDP service. •Together with another Tracking Engineer complete the setup of our Server-Side Tracking Architecture Platform based on Google Stack (SSGA4 + SSGAds in SSGTM deployed on Docker/Kubernetes Cluster).

•1-2 years perspective — move/evolve into a data engineer professional who will be responsible for the overall architecture of digital data management for marketing and product customers, as well as the overall architecture of tracking, supporting the current MarTech and AdTech stack.

Required Skills:

•6+ years of experience as Web & App Analytics (as an Implementation Engineer) / Digital Tracking Engineer / Digital Analyst position(s). Strong experience in Universal GA, GA4, SSGTM, GTM, SSGTM Implementation on global projects (20-40 countries with monthly traffic >2M Users).

•2+ years of experience performing Data Engineering functions. Understanding of how to design lightweight ETL/ELT pipelines for efficient data ingestion, optimizing current data pipelines for performance, reliability and scalability using Airflow (or similar solutions).

•Strong understanding of Server-Side Web Tracking Concept, experience of integrating and setting up SSGTM, SSGA4, SSGAds from scratch on GCP or AWS outline with further maintenance and technical refinements depending on customer objectives and strategy of utilizing. Experience in UA -> GA4 service migration.

•Expertise in CDP technology, including end-to-end mParticle integration, maintenance, and optimization. Skilled in clickstream event mapping, schema management, troubleshooting, and categorization.

•Expertise in dataLayer concepts for web clickstream tracking, including forwarding data to GA4, mParticle, and ad platforms (Google Ads, Meta, Floodlight). Skilled in monitoring and debugging tracking issues using DevTools, Charles, and HTTP request monitoring.

•Strong knowledge of custom event tracking and clickstream analytics, managing events in GitHub or cataloging systems like AVO. Experienced in defining tracking specs, schemas, and best practices to ensure accurate data collection.

•Proficient in app tracking with Firebase, Adjust (or AppsFlyer), and CDPs, integrating web and app data for an omnichannel digital view. Experienced in setting up Adjust from scratch based on marketing goals and debugging app tracking issues.

•Good understanding of cloud-based data warehouses, lakes like BigQuery, Redshift, and Athena to store and process large-scale user-behavior events datasets.

•Good understanding of optimizing data processing workflows by leveraging cloud services like AWS Glue. Automate data ingestion and transformation using Python and SQL.

•Good understanding of GDPR data governance policies, including metadata management, documentation, and compliance. (Some) Experience of working with Consent Management Platforms (CMPs) like UserCentrics or OneTrust, and how ensure cookie consent settings align with tracking requirements

Nice to Have:

•Exactag service knowledge / experience for marketing performance optimization.

•Understanding of monitoring and logging (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) to track system health

•General understanding / experience with apache NiFI for data transformation and pipiline management

•Master’s degree in information technology, computer technology, economics or other related fields
