• Proficient in English with excellent speaking and writing abilities.
• Strong experience with Linux operating systems, particularly Debian, Ubuntu, and CentOS.
• Expertise in DNS administration, as well as user and host account management.
• Cloud services management: Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, S3, EKS), Linode VPS; Google Cloud (GKE)
• Experience with configuration and performance monitoring of MySQL, Postgres, Apache, nginx.
• Knowledge of KVM, LXC and Proxmox.
• An understanding of TCP/IP networking, troubleshooting, monitoring including an understanding of OSI layers in networking and what the practical applications and implications are.
• Basic knowledge of programming and scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python, PHP, C, Go), expert level proficiency in at least one.
• Software integration experience (makefile, cmake, bitbake, recipes, buildroot, debuild)
• Experience with Jira, Prometheus, Grafana
• Expert level knowledge of Kubernetes and building CI/CD pipelines utilizing Helm.
• Hands-on experience with server configuration management tools, particularly Puppet, for automating the deployment, configuration, and management of servers.
• Experience with tools like Terraform and a deep understanding of “configuration as code” philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Taking part in 24/7 on-call rotations
• Full-stack of designing, building and implementing CI pipelines in Gitlab-CI for project deployment both on bare-metal servers, VM infrastructure and Kubernetes from building and provisioning build infrastructure to writing helm charts or puppet modules for deployment.
• Designing and implementing performance and availability monitoring tooling on live systems.
• Post-production maintenance and developer support, for example, helping developers understand why their code does not work and supporting them with best practices to enable resilient architecture.
