| About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer to own the reliability, scalability, and day-to-day operation of our fast-growing marketplace store platform. You’ll partner closely with product and store operations teams, and automate infrastructure, streamline delivery pipelines, monitor uptime performance, keep the marketplace software running smoothly, version upgrades, routine maintenance, and ensure a seamless shopping experience for users worldwide.
| Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Cloud
• Design, provision, and maintain highly available cloud environments on AWS.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
CI/CD & Automation
• Build and optimize end-to-end pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI).
• Automate testing, security scanning, and deployment workflows for microservices, containers, and serverless functions.
Container Orchestration
• Deploy, monitor, and scale Kubernetes clusters (EKS, GKE, AKS).
• Manage Helm charts, and observability stacks.
Monitoring & Incident Management
• Set up metrics, logs, and tracing (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry).
• Define alerting policies, run post-mortems, and drive continuous improvement.
Security & Compliance
• Integrate secret management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager) and enforce least-privilege IAM policies.
• Conduct regular vulnerability scans and ensure PCI-DSS / GDPR compliance for payment flows.
Performance & Cost Optimization
• Profile platform performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement auto-scaling strategies.
• Optimize cloud spend through right-sizing, reserved instances, and spot?instance usage.
Collaboration & Documentation
• Work hand-in-hand with developers to embed DevOps practices early in the SDLC.
• Maintain clear runbooks, architecture diagrams, and knowledge-base articles.
| Required Skills & Experience
Cloud Platforms
3+ years managing production workloads on AWS, or GCP, Azure.
IaC & Automation
Strong proficiency with Terraform (or equivalent) and scripting (Bash/Python).
Containers & Orchestration
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (cluster ops, networking, storage).
CI/CD Pipelines
Building robust pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar.
Marketplace Operations
Proven experience configuring, upgrading, and maintaining SaaS/e-commerce or marketplace software in production.
Website Operations
Experience monitoring and troubleshooting public?facing web applications, CDN configurations, and front?end performance tooling.
Monitoring & Observability
Familiarity with Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/Loki, and distributed tracing.
Security Practices
Understanding of secret management, IAM, vulnerability scanning, and compliance frameworks.
Programming / Scripting
Comfortable reading/writing code in Python, Go, or JavaScript for automation.
Collaboration
Excellent communication, and thrive in cross-functional teams.
| Nice To Have
Experience with e-commerce or marketplace platforms.
Knowledge of serverless architectures (Lambda, Cloud Functions).
Familiarity with Terraform Cloud/Enterprise or Pulumi.
Exposure to database operations (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis) in a high-traffic environment.
Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, CKAD/CKA, or Google Professional DevOps Engineer.
