Project Management:

  • Provide support from regional offices (bases) in determining the needs for equipment, supply and services for Wash CDCS/AFD ProjectWork with Logistics, Grants and Finance Teams to ensure timely purchases and deliveries

Description of the position

<. Coordinator Supports The Solidarites International (Si) Country Mission in Ukraine to Achiev Their Overall Operational Results, with A Focus on Supcific Wash Projects Funded F> P

Supervision by the Wash Project Coordinator, The Deputy Wash Project Coordinator Contributes to the Provision of Technical Support, Carrying Out Monitoring, assessment, and evaluations of needs in areas of intervention selected for the CDCS-AFD project, ensuring the quality of SI’s technical interventions.

With the WaSH Project Coordinator, he/she provides operational support and oversights for WaSH staff in Base/Field offices. In addition, the Deputy WaSH Project Coordinator helps manage SI’s WaSH CDCS/AFD projects through results monitoring, reporting, identifying lessons learned, and disseminating acquired knowledge to SI staff as well as sector partners and donors.

With the WaSH Project Coordinator, he/she ensures review of proposed interventions and technical designs for activities proposed under CDCS/AFD.

He/She facilitates and eases the relationships with Ukrainian authorities and related entities at local and national level for the preparation and implementation of CDCS/AFD projects’ activities

The Deputy WaSH Project Coordinator also takes on the functions of the WaSH Project Coordinator in case of the latter’s absence. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:


Project Management: 

  • With the Project Coordinator, help ensuring the technical relevance, cost-efficiency, and quality of SI’s WaSH CDCS/AFD projects
  • Support the Base offices to identify equipment, supply, and service needs for WaSH CDCS/AFD projects, and work with Logistics, Grants, and Finance teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery
  • Analyze program information gathered from projects and recommend ways to strengthen and improve SI’s WaSH CDCS/AFD interventions
  • Help ensuring WaSH contributions to SI reports, evaluations, and assessments
  • Develop tools and provide training to field teams to ensure the quality of implemented projects
  • Collect and review project activity tracking reports from Base offices and use the data to help prepare high quality activity and progress reports


Technical support and operational monitoring:

  • Plan and carry out WaSH program support missions to Base operational areas, and report back on findings – as well as providing specific recommendations – to operational teams and management
  • Support the development and dissemination of Standard Operating Procedures for WaSH activities
  • Provide technical research and specifications for WaSH CDCS/AFD activities, including guidance on standards and regulations
  • Support SI’s Project Managers and other technical staff to conduct WaSH task and resource planning
  • Ensure accountability to local communities and beneficiaries of Solidarites International CDCS/AFD projects
  • Help ensuring that Government partners at all relevant levels are appropriately informed and engaged in project implementation, and that SI’s relationship with Government agencies remains constructive and beneficial 


Strategic Orientation:

  • Take part in the development and implementation of SI’s technical and programmatic strategy in Ukraine 
  • Participate in humanitarian needs identification and in the design of appropriate activities to address these needs in targeted communities

 

Reporting / Communication / Representation: 

  • Participate in WaSH sector working groups, the humanitarian Cluster coordination processes, and other information networks and exchange platforms – both nationally and internationally, as appropriate
  • Collect, assess, and disseminate WaSH information both externally and internally
  • Help ensuring that SI’s WaSH CDCS/AFD projects files are complete and regularly updated with reporting, monitoring, and communications information


PROFILE FORSAKEN

Studies: Higher technical education related to water/sanitation/health

Experience: Experience in WaSH project management, partnerships and relations with national/local authorities

Language: English - C1 level, Ukrainian - B2 level

IT: Basics maintenance for laptops, infrastructures and telecommunication means

Soft skills: Knowledge of MS Excel and Word programs, including preparation of reporting tables, charts, graphs and presentations

Personal qualities: Strategic thinking and action. Communication skills, leadership qualities, ability to establish relationships with a wide range of people and institutions. Analytical skills to ensure quality WaSH program design and contextual analysis


WORKING CONDITIONS

Place of work: office at the address: Kyiv, Olesia Honchara str., building 57Б, possible business trips to other regions

Contract: fixed-term contract (according to Ukrainian legislation) 

Type of employment: full-time

Salary: 2700 EURO gross (before the taxation, paid in UAH according to the monthly rate of the bank of the European Commission). 

Additionally: paid vacation 31 calendar days, additional paid vacation for family reason, life insurance.
