ABOUT THE POSITION

The Health Care Division of the ICRC is looking for a competent Database Analyst to work in m. Kyiv. Database Analyst manages medical data collected by ICRC medical teams in order to support activities entitled to ICRC protection and assistance under international humanitarian law.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Contributes to the improvement, development and application of data quality monitoring processes and tools (dashboards, pivot tables, etc.) and, as necessary, participates in the automation of data quality control.
• Provides support in the collection, summarization and entry of data into institutional reporting tools used by the health department (MAD - Medical Activity Database/DHIS2 - District Health Information System 2, PEARL, PMT – Planning and Monitoring Tool). 
• Performs data processing, implements and updates data entry procedures and data collection tools in collaboration with the Health Coordinator, Deputy Health Coordinator and Health Program Managers.
• Works closely with the Health Data technical teams in Belgrade and Geneva to resolve issues in databases and other institutional tools. 
• Assists the healthcare team in the analysis of performance indicators, improvement of the functional area of competence and provides ongoing support in data monitoring, analysis and planning.
• Participates in the creation of institutional reporting and dashboards, supporting colleagues in the preparation, review and optimization of reports.

Candidate requirements

To be successful in this position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Citizenship of Ukraine or permanent residence permit
• Higher education or professional certification
• 2 years of work experience in a similar field
• 3-5 years of general professional experience
• Knowledge of BI, SQL, statistical packages, Tableau
• Excellent command of the English language. Knowledge of French is an advantage
• Computer skills
• Ability to interact effectively with data users, managers and other stakeholders
• Ability to understand new business processes and their interaction with software and organizational structure
• Ability to analyze and interpret information for decision making
• High motivation, team spirit, commitment to humanitarian principles
• Flexibility, enthusiasm, willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently and under supervision
• Ability to effectively organize time and set priorities
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and build good working relationships
