Customer support specialist, logistics tracking specialist (night shift) in Global Logistics

Job Summary: As a Tracking Specialist at Empire National, you will play a key role in monitoring and managing freight movement to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. Your main responsibilities will include real-time truck tracking, maintaining communication with drivers, and providing updates to brokers, dispatchers, and customers. This position requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Real-Time Tracking & Monitoring:

• Track and monitor trucks and loads using GPS and dispatching software.
• Ensure all assigned loads are on schedule and proactively address any delays.
• Verify driver locations and estimated arrival times.

Communication & Coordination:

• Maintain constant communication with drivers to provide updates and resolve issues.
• Act as a liaison between drivers, dispatchers, and brokers.
• Notify stakeholders of any delays, route changes, or potential disruptions.

Issue Resolution & Compliance:

• Assist drivers with route adjustments due to traffic, weather, or road restrictions.
• Report and document any delays, accidents, or other critical incidents.
• Ensure drivers have the necessary permits, paperwork, and compliance with DOT regulations.

Reporting & Documentation:

- Maintain accurate records of load statuses, delays, and driver communications.

- Prepare and submit reports on tracking performance and issues.

- Log and track delivery times, dwell times, and any exceptions.

Night shifts only! from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM, four days a week: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday are days off.

This is a permanent work schedule.

Requirements:

Experience & Knowledge:

• Previous experience in trucking, logistics, or dispatching is preferred.
• Understanding of trucking regulations, tracking software, and load management.
• Familiarity with freight brokerage and carrier operations is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in tracking and dispatch software (e.g., Samsara, MacroPoint, FourKites, etc.).

Other Requirements:
