JOB INFORMATION

  • Community Mobilizer Protection and Empowerment Programs (WPE) will lead all information, outreach, risk reduction and community mobilization efforts. Main activities include dissemination of information, assessment of risks faced by women and girls in target communities and development of response strategies, capacity building of community members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adherence and active promotion of an approach focused on supporting women and girls, as well as the guiding principles of combating gender-based violence. 
  • Identification of key protection risks and mitigation/reduction measures
  • Identification of barriers to access to existing services for vulnerable/special groups and initiation of measures to reduce/remove these barriers. 
  • As needed, organization of community meetings to disseminate information or for other purposes. 
  • Tracking any changes and protection trends in the community. 
  • Encouraging and developing social cohesion among the host and IDP community
  • Maintaining positive coordination and relationships with partners and other sector staff. 
  • Through regular community outreach activities, building and maintaining relationships with communities, including local leaders, various groups and stakeholders, to facilitate support for women, girls and survivors of gender-based violence. 
  • Supporting the protection team in conducting assessments and other activities that assess risks.
  • Assessing topics relevant to the needs of the community, particularly women and girls. 
  • Ensure and strengthen appropriate safe and confidential referrals for survivors of GBV. 
  • Weekly activity reporting as directed by the Women's Protection Program Prevention Specialist

POSITION REQUIREMENTS< /p>

  • Language: mandatory Ukrainian; preferably English
  • Higher education - in the field of social work, human rights, social sciences, public health, humanities or other related field
  • Demonstrated experience in community service, mobilization and community involvement, as well as work with women and girls affected by warth conflict. 
  • A clear understanding and interest in the well-being of women and girls and supporting their healing after experiences of violence. 
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations when required and support the Women's Protection team in providing any support when required. 
  • Experience facilitating group events, trainings and seminars and mentoring others. 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients/beneficiaries
  • Positive and professional attitude including ability to work productively in a team
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word and Excel

REPORTING STRUCTURE AND TEAMWORK

  • Prepare and submit weekly work reports in a timely manner activity plans.
  • Prepare weekly reports for Senior WPE Officer, WPE Specialist.
  • Complete all relevant instruments for activities conducted.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly reports including information on public engagement activities, consultations and progress made.
  • Participate in WPE-related coordination meetings as requested by supervisor.
