JOB INFORMATION

Community Mobilizer Women's Protection and Empowerment Program (WPE) ) will lead all outreach, outreach, risk reduction, and community mobilization efforts. Main activities include dissemination of information, assessment of risks faced by women and girls in target communities and development of response strategies, capacity building of community members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adherence and active dissemination of an approach focused on supporting women, girls, as well as the guiding principles of combating gender-based violence;
  • Identify key protection risks, barriers, measures to mitigate/reduce such risks;
  • Organization of activities aimed at disseminating information or with other programmatic goals;
  • Support of coordination and relations with partner organizations , representatives of the authorities and other teams of the organization;
  • Building and maintaining relations with communities through regular informational and educational activities in the community, including local leaders, various groups and interested parties to facilitate support for women, girls and victims of gender-based violence;
  • Timely preparation and submission of weekly work plans;
  • Supporting other protection teams in conducting assessments and other activities , which assess the risks;
  • Development of relevant messages, which is carried out with the technical support of a department specialist, about the types of services and support available to victims of HAS;
  • Ensuring and strengthening appropriate safe and confidential referral of HAS survivors;
  • Supporting the dissemination of risk reduction tools (incl. sets of dignity)
  • Preparation of information for reports.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Language: Ukrainian mandatory mandatory, English will be an advantage.
  • Higher education in the field of law, social work, social sciences or humanities, or in another related field.
  • Having experience working in the humanitarian field or facilitating group events, trainings and seminars, mentoring, etc. 
  • Demonstrated experience in community work, community mobilization and involvement, as well as work with women and girls affected by conflict.
  • Doc.from engagement with authorities on the ground.
  • A clear understanding and interest in the well-being of women and girls and supporting their healing from experiences of violence. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients/beneficiaries.

REPORTING STRUCTURE AND TEAMWORK

  • Reporting to: WPE Manager, Senior WPE Specialist. 
  • Internal cooperation: Child Protection team; Protection Rule of Law team; Economic Recovery and Development team; Health team. 
  • External cooperation: Entities, organizations and agencies for countering HON.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION

  • The position will be based in the Kharkiv office, with business trips to Donetsk and Sumy regions in connection with current activities, after a security assessment, with the possibility of overnight stay in a hotel or guest house.
