BF "Right to Defense" (hereinafter - the Foundation) is a charitable organization that focuses its activities on providing assistance to internally displaced persons, persons in need of international protection, stateless persons, persons at increased risk of statelessness and persons without documents. Since the beginning of the war in Eastern Ukraine, as well as after the full-scale invasion, the Foundation has been monitoring the situation of protection of the rights of IDPs, providing legal assistance and strengthening the humanitarian response in various regions of Ukraine.

GENERAL PROJECT OVERVIEW< /strong>

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the city of Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region have become not only the epicenter of military operations, but also a place where a significant number of internally displaced persons are concentrated. This region became a kind of stronghold for those who were forced to leave their native towns and villages. To this day, Kharkiv remains a city that is one of the first to receive evacuees, and a city where people remain after displacement and continue to rebuild their own lives. with the support of the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine and the city council of Kharkiv, they are implementing the Adaptation Space project in Svoi, where IDPs and people affected by the war will be able to receive the full range of social services in one place.

In order to implement the project, BF "Right to Defense" announces a competition for the position of Communications Manager.

Duties and responsibilities

< p style="font-style: normal; font-weight: 400">As part of the delegated powers, the Communications Manager in cooperation with the Space Coordinator will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Communication activities to promote and post information about the Adaptation Space in the city of "Svoy" on Facebook and Instagram pages;
  • Collection and processing of information for content creation;
  • >
  • Creation of content plans and materials: videos, photos, visuals, texts for social networks;
  • Participation in the development and implementation of an internal and external communication strategy/plan for the space;
  • Development of communication with national, regional and foreign media to promote the Space and its services;
  • Development of communication messages, writing press and post-releases, articles, preparation of other text materials for communication with the media/beneficiaries /partners;
  • Participation in the organization of events held in the space for further promotion and coverage;
  • Regular updating of project information materials, including reports, brochures, leaflets, etc. Support of the project's communication plan and informing the public;
  • Performance of other dutieson behalf of the manager;
  • Understanding and compliance with the Code of Conduct and other policies of the Foundation.

Qualifications required

  • Higher education, preferably in public relations/journalism, or experience of working in the media or in a similar position in the public/humanitarian sector for at least 2 years;
  • Understanding trends, algorithms and settings social networks;
  • Cultural sensitivity and diplomacy;
  • Time management and communication skills;
  • High level of writing skills, content creation using CANVA, Figma, Photoshop, InShot, VN and others;
  • Knowledge of PR, social networks - mandatory. Understanding of aspects of international assistance to IDPs and victims of war, social protection - desirable;
  • Sufficient knowledge of the humanitarian context;
  • Excellent command of Ukrainian and English;
  • The presence of warm contacts in the mass media is welcome.
