We work in the areas of education, child protection, overcoming child poverty, health care I, and also conduct advocacy activities related to protection children's rights.

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

The communications coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Consortium for the Protection of Ukraine (KZU) and will lead the work of the NGO Platform for communication and exchange information, as well as issues related to the management of internal and external communications. The Coordinator is responsible for optimizing communications by creating and developing specific types of information and communication products (eg website updates, weekly updates, publications, reference materials, etc.). The Communications Coordinator will work on the creation of internal information exchange systems and provide recommendations on the management of internal information and communication processes in the Secretariat.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

< strong>Development, development and implementation strategies:

- Lead the design, development and implementation of the NGO Platform communications strategy, including weekly updates and a social media strategy based on membership priorities and feedback.

- Develop and implement the "Introductory Package" for the NGO Platform, especially for new NGO Platform members and new Regional Directors, in coordination with the Director, Deputy Director and Advocacy and Policy Adviser, to ensure adequate information and communication is provided to NGO Platform members and relevant stakeholders.

External communications and engagement:

  • Ensure consistency of the NGO Platform's public position through communication through media and digital platforms, including the NGO Platform website and social media channels.
  • Manage development content for the NGO Platform website and cooperate with the publishing service provider and website management.
  • In coordination with members of the NGO Platform, collect and, if necessary, support the development, production and distribution management of external communication materials on both traditional and digital platforms.
  • In coordination with members of the Consortium for the Protection of Ukraine (KZU) develop, produce and distribute external communication materials for a wide range of audiences on both traditional and digital platforms. 


Coordination of internal communications, capacity building and technical support:

  • Ensure , so that the information and communication products released by the Secretariat of the NGO Platform meet high quality standards; that the reports are clear, objective, based on comprehensive data and responsibleand relevant professional requirements.
  • Produce specific types (e.g., printed, online) of information and communication products (e.g., brochures, guides, newsletters, etc.) that correspond to the work of the NGO Platform.
  • Manage content development and communication activities for the NGO Platform General Assembly and other annual events. 
  • Conduct induction training and briefing for all new employees and new directors of member organizations as necessary.

The role will be split 25/75% between KZU and the NGO Platform.< /p>

Additional job duties:

The duties and responsibilities set out above are not exhaustive, and from the performer of the role additional may be required responsibilities corresponding to his level of qualifications and experience. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the individual in this role will be expected to work outside of their normal profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE (MANDATORY)< /strong>

  • Master's degree in journalism, communications, information management, political or social sciences, or related fields. 
  • PowerPoint presentations, development of one-page memos, flyers, web content, position papers, press releases and creative management web pages.
  • Documented skills in web information management, database design, data analysis, graphic design, social media, print media, and visual/audio media.
  • Demonstrated web and graphic design skills, Office, Google apps, Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS/QGIS is an advantage.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Ukrainian languages.
  • Willingness to learn and interest in humanitarian practice.
  • Commitment to international humanitarian standards and principles.
  • Excellent writing, editorial and analytical skills, as well as the ability formulate targeted strategic documents.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and often demanding environment.
  • Flexibility, multitasking and ability to work in team.

Desirable:

  • Communication experience in an NGO .
  • Desirable work experience in an NGO (local or international) or civil society in Ukraine.
