Mindly is a dynamic and rapidly growing startup dedicated to making mental healthcare accessible to everyone in the world. In just 2 years, Mindly has become one of the leaders in Europe in the mental healthcare space, with over 600,000 clients and 4000 therapists across the globe. We are seeking an innovative and highly skilled Chief Financial Officer to join our leadership team. This role is pivotal in steering our financial strategy, ensuring robust financial health, and driving growth.

Position Overview: Chief Financial Officer will serve as a strategic partner for the CEO, be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of Mindly, with a particular focus on financial planning and analysis (FP&A), accounting and the implementation and management of automated accounting and financial reporting systems, as well as overseeing legal compliance with EU and international tax regulations. This role is crucial for maintaining financial integrity, compliance, optimizing performance, and supporting our expansion efforts.

Prior experience as a CFO is not required. Mindly is dedicated to nurturing talent and providing opportunities for growth and development within our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Strategic Leadership and Support:

• Serve as a strategic partner for the CEO, providing financial insights and recommendations to support company objectives.
• Manage Mindly’s financial, legal, and tax exposure, ensuring robust risk management practices.
• Oversee fundraising initiatives and cash management strategies to secure necessary capital for growth.
• Develop and maintain strong investor relations, including regular reporting and communication with stakeholders.
• Actively support the company’s global PR efforts and senior recruitment initiatives, ensuring alignment with financial goals and strategic priorities.

2. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):

• Develop and manage financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
• Conduct thorough financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Monitor key financial metrics and provide actionable insights to the executive team.
• Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, including the board of directors and investors.
• Implement and maintain automated financial reporting systems to streamline processes and enhance accuracy.

3. Automation and Systems Management:

• Lead the automation of accounting processes and financial reporting to efficiently manage high-volume B2C transactions.
• Ensure seamless integration with Payment Service Providers such as Stripe and PayPal.
• Implement systems for automatic categorization and reconciliation of thousands of daily transactions.
• Manage relationships with banks, including Wise, Revolut, and Payoneer.

4. Reporting and Compliance:

• Prepare and submit all required financial reports, including annual reports and VAT reports, to ensure compliance with tax regulations across the EU and globally.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of all statutory financial statements and tax returns.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and international tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Develop and implement robust internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and reporting.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulations.
• Provide comprehensive financial reporting to the executive team, board of directors, and investors, highlighting key financial metrics and insights.

5. Bookkeeping and Accounting:

• Recruiting and managing a team who will be responsible for:

1. Manage and oversee all aspects of bookkeeping and accounting.
2. Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, including VAT regulations across the EU.
3. Handle day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
4. Implement and maintain automated accounting reporting systems to streamline processes and enhance accuracy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 5 years in FP&A, investment banking, management consulting
• Background from one of the Big Four or from top Investment banks or Management Consulting firms will be a plus.
• Prior experience from EU or US high growth companies will be a huge plus.
• Extensive experience with Excel Power Pivot/Query, DAX.
• Be very hands-on, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Solid understanding of International Accounting Standards.
• Fluent English is a must.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
