Ardupilot autopilot setup engineer in Buntar Aerospace

Buntar Aerospace is a Ukrainian startup in the field of defense technologies. Our goal is to reduce the cost of reconnaissance missions with innovative solutions. We develop products for tactical and operational intelligence tasks, including unmanned aerial systems (UAVs) Buntar One and software Buntar 600; font-style: inherit">Copilot to automate mission management and planning. 

We are looking for a Autopilot Tuning Engineer Ardupilot, which will help our team adapt and improve technologies for combat use. 

Key tasks:

–Optimization of autopilots for various types of UAVs (including VTOL and aircraft): based on user feedback and flight data, improve settings to improve flight stability and efficiency; 

– Setting up the autopilot from scratch: integration of autopilots in new models or replacement of existing systems in ready-made platforms; 

– Integration of autonomous navigation sensors without GPS: ensuring stable operation of navigation systems in difficult conditions where there is no access to satellite data; 

– Integration of guidance systems for high-precision interaction with various combat tasks and reconnaissance missions; 

– Cooperation with the software development team : help in integrating autopilots with Buntar Copilot developed software (alternative to Mission Planner); 

– Analysis of flight logs: diagnostics of flight data to identify problems and optimize the operation of aircraft. 

Requirements:

– Education: higher education in the field of engineering, robotics, avionics or related fields; 

– Experience: practical skills in setting up and optimizing autopilots for VTOL and aircraft; 

– Technical knowledge: understanding of drone operation principles, sensor integration, flight control; 

– Technical problem-solving skills: ability to diagnose systems and make adjustments to improve performance; 

– Teamwork: ability to effectively cooperate with engineering and software teams; 

– Readiness for field tests: participation in testing and possible business trips; 

– C++ and Python programming experience (will be a plus).
