We offer a part-time (20 hours per week) remote position of an Oracle Applicative DBA.Job Overview: As an Oracle Applicative DBA, your primary responsibilities will focus on performance tuning and PL/SQL development to optimize the efficiency and reliability of Oracle databases supporting critical applications. You will collaborate with development teams to ensure that database structures are designed and maintained in alignment with business objectives, ensuring top performance and scalability.Responsibilities:1. Perform advanced performance tuning of Oracle databases, optimizing queries, indexes, and overall database architecture to ensure maximum efficiency and responsiveness.2. Develop and maintain PL/SQL code to support application functionality, including stored procedures, triggers, and packages.3. Collaborate with application developers to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, providing expert guidance on performance optimization and query efficiency.4. Conduct regular performance analysis to identify and address potential bottlenecks, making recommendations for both short- and long-term performance improvements.5. Monitor database health, including resource utilization, query performance, and storage optimization.6. Design and implement solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of database queries and transactions within the application environment.7. Participate in database schema design and ensure that database changes support optimal performance and application functionality.8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth application performance, integrating database solutions with business processes.9. Stay updated on the latest Oracle features, tuning techniques, and database management tools to continuously improve database performance.Requirements:1. Strong expertise in Oracle database performance tuning, including query optimization, index tuning, and memory management.2. Extensive experience in writing and optimizing PL/SQL code, including stored procedures, triggers, functions, and packages.3. Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex database performance issues.4. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and long-term database performance improvements.5. Strong understanding of Oracle's internal performance metrics, tools (e.g., AWR, ASH, and OEM), and best practices.6. Ability to collaborate effectively with development teams to deliver high-performance applications.Additional Skills:1. Familiarity with database monitoring and performance tuning tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager.2. Experience with database partitioning, parallel query processing, and other performance-enhancing features of Oracle databases.3. Knowledge of database infrastructure, database security, backup, and recovery strategies, DR solution.4. Relevant Oracle certifications are a plus.We offer:1.
