Esper Hand is expected to be available in the US starting in the summer of 2022.Esper Control is a wearable non-invasive brain-computer interfaceEsper Platform is a cloud-based software solution that uses machine learning algorithms to individualize the control of wearables, including the Hand.Key responsibilities for this role may include:Application Development:Design, develop, and maintain an Android application from scratch to manage bionic prosthesis hands.Implement robust and secure communication protocols, including working with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to interface with the prosthetic device.Ensure seamless integration with AWS services for data reporting and storage.Cloud Integration:Integrate the application with AWS services for storing and reporting performance data.Implement secure authorization and authentication mechanisms to ensure data security and user privacy.Ensure data is transmitted securely and efficiently to the cloud.Utilize Firebase for authentication, real-time databases, and cloud messaging as needed.CI/CD and Release Management:Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket Pipelines or similar tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.Ensure the application is tested thoroughly and adheres to high-quality standards.Manage the release process and ensure the application is successfully published on the Google Play Store.Automated Testing:Develop and maintain automated test suites to ensure the reliability and performance of the application.Implement testing strategies to cover various aspects of the application, including unit tests, integration tests, and UI tests.Utilize testing frameworks such as JUnit, Espresso, Mockito, and Robolectric.Requirements:Technical Skills:Proven experience in Android application development.Strong knowledge of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Bluetooth standard communication protocols for interfacing with external devices.Experience with cloud services, particularly AWS.Proficiency in implementing secure authorization and authentication mechanisms.Experience with Firebase for authentication, real-time databases, and cloud messaging.Proficiency in CI/CD tools and practices, including Bitbucket Pipelines and alternatives such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.Strong understanding of automated testing frameworks and tools, including JUnit, Espresso, Mockito, and Robolectric.Familiarity with Google Play Store release processes.Previous experience with wearable devices such as FitBit or similar is a plus, as those involve similar challenges.
