About the job 

The ICRC Analysis and Evidence Unit seeks a competent Analysis & Evidence (A&E) Specialist to join our team in Kyiv to support our delegation’s efforts in strengthening evidence-based decision-making. The A&E Specialist is a technical specialist for a specific program, or a specific matter related to needs assessments, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), situation and problem analysis, monitoring, evaluation and operational information management in delegation needed to ensure evidence-based and outcome-oriented programs at regional or local scale. If you have a strong analytical mindset, experience in needs assessments, GIS, and monitoring frameworks, and a passion for training and capacity-building, this role is for you!

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Advise the A&E Coordinator on defining thematic strategies that align with the delegation’s priorities and ensure their successful application
  • Support needs assessments, GIS analysis, situation monitoring, and problem-solving frameworks to ensure high-quality, evidence-based programming
  • Organize and deliver workshops and training sessions to strengthen A&E expertise across teams
  • Provide functional guidance to A&E staff at both delegation and sub-structure levels
  • Work closely with the A&E Coordinator to support delegation management and increase the institutional visibility and impact of A&E
  • Represent A&E in fora, meetings, and workshops, building partnerships and staying at the forefront of developments in the field

About you

To be successful as Analysis & Evidence Specialist in the Analysis and Evidence Unit, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics:  

  • Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
  • Advanced university degree in Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Political Science, or a related discipline
  • 6 to 9 years in needs assessments, monitoring and evaluation, operational information management, or closely related fields
  • Demonstrated field experience in designing, collecting, and analyzing data for surveys and assessments
  • Relevant humanitarian experience with organizations such as the ICRC, Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement, UN agencies, or NGOs
  • Familiarity with early warning systems, econometrics, geo-analysis, and associated software applications. 
  • Proven ability to analyse, interpret, and present information effectively for decision-making purposesStrong written and verbal communication skills in English, Ukrainian, and Russian
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools
  • Proven understanding with qualitative and statistical analysis tools such as Nvivo, SPSS, STATA, R, SQL, Python, and mapping software like ArcGIS.
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
  • Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment
