Danish Refugee Council (DRC)is an international non-governmental organization that promotes and supports long-term solutions to the challenges faced by refugees and internally displaced people worldwide.

DRBs will continue to implement their set of long-term solutions to address challenges within changing circumstances.

DRB is currently looking for a highly qualified Advocacy Specialistto work in our office in Kyiv.

General purpose of the role:

As a DRB Political Analyst, your role will be to closely monitor and analyze political developments in the region to understand their potential impact on humanitarian operations. You will be responsible for providing expert information and strategic advice on the political context, including key stakeholders, policy changes and potential impact on humanitarian efforts.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Tracking and analyzing political trends, policies and events in Ukraine.
  • Evaluation of the potential impact of political decisions on the humanitarian mission of the organization.
  • Timely provision of reports, briefings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Establishing relations with key political actors, government officials and civil society organizations.
  • Contribute to the organization's advocacy efforts.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a full understanding of the policy context.

About you

To be successful in this position, we expect you to have at least 3-4 years of experience in the field of political science , international relations or a related field. In addition, we also expect the following from you:

Required:

  • A deep understanding of Ukrainian policies, strong analytical and relationship-building skills, the ability to work independently and effectively communicate complex information.
  • Fluency in Ukrainian and English is a must.

Would be an advantage:

  • Bachelor's degree in political science, international relations or related field.

We offer:

  • Contract: Open-ended contract after successful 3-month trial period
  • Level: G2 - non-management 
  • Place of duties: Kyiv
  • Start date: as soon as possible

Wages and conditions in accordance with the Conditions of Employment of National Staff of the Danish Refugee Council.
