What you will need to do
Create character animations for a stylized 3D fighting game, including but not limited to: idle loops, attack and combo sequences, hit reactions, blocks/evasions, win/lose poses, movement loops and animations special abilities.
- Work closely with the development team to ensure animations are properly integrated into Unity and match the tone and pace of the game.
- Deliver production-ready animation assets optimized for mobile platforms.
- Iterate on animations based on feedback to achieve the right feel and character of each character.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with 3D character animation, preferably in a stylized or cartoon aesthetic. Please attach a portfolio or showreel of relevant work.
- Proficiency in Unity animation pipeline - familiarity with Mecanim, Animator Controllers, blend trees and animation state machines.
- Experience with serrated humanoid characters (ability to burp is a plus, but not required; we can provide shrunk if needed models).
- Proficient in any industry-specific DCC tool of your choice - Blender, Maya, 3ds Max or similar - subject to correct asset export to Unity.
- Ability to work independently, manage own time and clearly communicate progress.
Would be an advantage - Animation experience for mobile games(understanding of performance budgets, workflows with polycount in mind).
- Understanding of combat animation principles - weight, impact, readability of attacks and frame anticipation.
- Previous experience in fighting, action or fighting games or projects.
- Experience **adapting sprites in 3D** or porting 2D game concepts to 3D.
