Backend Developer (Python/Django) in SmartShop

SmartShop is a provider of Apple Developer accounts for developers, app studios, and arbitration teams. We have been operating since 2024 and have already transferred over 2,000 accounts to clients. We develop our own products, website, internal services, and mobile applications.

We are looking for a Backend Developer who will develop and support our products, website, and mobile applications. The work will be supervised by a development lead who will help you immerse yourself in projects, understand the tasks, and support you throughout the work process.

We are willing to consider candidates without commercial experience. For us, it is more important to have practical skills: your own, educational or freelance projects in which you worked independently with Python, Django, databases and APIs.

We actively use Claude and Claude Code in development, so practical experience with them or other AI tools is a must. It is important to be able to correctly set AI tasks, analyze proposed solutions, and verify generated code.

What will need to be done?

• Develop and maintain the backend for SmartShop products, website, and mobile applications.
• Create server logic and new features in Python and Django.
• Develop and connect REST APIs for interaction with the website, frontend, and mobile applications.
• Work with databases: create and modify models, execute queries, and process data.
• Integrate the backend with third-party services and APIs.
• Fix bugs, improve existing functionality, and participate in testing solutions.
• Work together with the development lead and other team members.
• Use Claude, Claude Code, and other AI tools to accelerate development, problem analysis, and solution discovery.

What is important to us?

• Practical experience in Python programming.
• Experience developing projects using Django.
• Understanding the principles of REST API operation.
• Basic knowledge of databases and ability to work with them.
• Minimal understanding of frontend development: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Practical experience using Claude, Claude Code or other AI tools in development.
• The ability to understand, test, and refine code created using AI tools.
• Ukrainian or Russian language - fluent level.
• English - from Intermediate, sufficient to work with interfaces, instructions, documentation, and technical materials.
• Ability to independently deal with tasks and find solutions.
• Attentiveness, responsibility and willingness to work with feedback.
• Desire to learn and develop in backend development.

Commercial experience is not required. We are willing to consider novice developers and students with practical projects and sufficient technical knowledge.
